Life in prison is utterly excessive for those offenses. Another sign of a police state. Most murderers don’t get that.
He is already facing a life sentence, what part of he is in his seventies don’t these morons understand, he is already in for 30, do they really think making it 50 years really matters?
We should be rejoicing if a cheat is nailed. Evil deserves to be punished whether they are on “our side” or not.

If you lack the ability to recognize the circumstances that led to the Manafort conviction I would suggest you lack the ability to recognize all the components that are the “basis” of the Manafort conviction.
It doesn’t matter how he was found as long as it was legal. Show me where it was illegal.
Manafort was intrumental in securing the nomination for the President. This is political payback. Its pure evil. The president must pardon him and start locking the real criminals up.

The point is not weather it was legal or not (in your case it’s the “only” aspect of the case your willing to acknowledge).
If you see it only as a legal issue that’s where you will be stuck while you willfully overlook the fact the government came to the conclusion years ago the case wasn’t worthy of pursuing.
The “only” reason the charges were pursued against Manafort was to use them as a weapon against Trump and if you’re okay with that you and I just don’t see governments role In the same light.
