People, we are getting things confused here. Wikileaks published JOHN PODESTA’S emails which were acquired by means of a “phishing” email to John Podesta. Podesta believed this email to be legitimate and revealed his password to his own email account. THIS is how the Podesta emails were ended up being published. Podesta gave them to the “bad guys”!!

I saw a statement from his mother the other day. She claims he is being held incommunicado, not even his lawyer is allowed to see him. The timing of his arrest with the Mueller confirmation of British intelligence involvement in the coup is troubling.
There have been all kinds of efforts to muddy the story and it is hard to know what is true and what isn't, since essentially every bit of digital evidence can be forged and often is by sophisticated organizations like the CIA, GRU, etc.
You could spend all day reading about different opinions on the issue, but if the timestamps are real, it is unlikely that the data was downloaded across the internet using typical exfiltration schemes.
