The two-year extension is worth $68 million and includes a $37.5 million signing bonus and a $30 million injury guarantee, a source told [Adam] Schefter. Roethlisberger had one year at $12 million left, meaning he will make $80 million total over the next three seasons. The extension all but guarantees Big Ben ends his career with the same franchise that drafted him in 2004. I am grateful to the Rooneys and the Steelers organization for continuing to believe in me," Roethlisberger said in a statement announcing the deal. "It has always been a goal to play my entire career in Pittsburgh. This is home for me and my family, and we love this city. I am as excited to be a Steeler in year 16 as I was when they drafted me. They will get my absolute best." Roethlisberger, who turned 37 on March 2, had one year left...

Where the HELL did time go?
I want 32 back!!
I thought 50 was an imaginary age! Now i’ll be 51 in a few weeks!
Remember him from the beginning.
Geesh.
Don’t watch the Steelers that much, but is Ben really playing that well at this point in his career?
He lead the nfl is passing yards last year.
I think he actually had some record stats last year.
Every now and then a QB comes along that should be on crutches from all the brutal shots he’s taken but this guy is one of the most Brutally Strong players that there are.
I’ve not seen many that can take hits like him.
Heck, something they can’t get him down.
“...and a $30 million injury guarantee...”
In a SANE world, we’d have this type of insurance policy for our Military personnel in Combat Zones, our targeted Police Officers in Liberal-Run Democrat Hellholes and the PATRIOTS of all stripes that protect our borders!
(And I say this as a RABID College Football Fan; the NFL can kiss my lily-white & spectacular @ss!)
I don’t watch the NFL. I got better things to do. Like cleaning my guns.
And he has a record year 12 years later.
Don’t know if what he says will make much sense though in 20 years.
Looks like the Steelers were 10-6 last year. I watched parts of a game or two when the team and Big Ben were struggling some. Guess I just happened to look in on some of their lesser moments last season.
He is one of the toughest ever and like trying to topple a tank to its side. I guess the people paying him for years are able to evaluate his ongoing effectiveness.
Topple a tank lol
Pretty much.
Dont picture him going down with one punch in a bar fight.
I didn’t watch for the FIRST time in 40 years, since I was 10, last year.
Got too annoyed with all the garbage going on and I lost my taste for it.
But I will watch this year.
I love the sport, when it is just a SPORT
He is one of the toughest ever and like trying to topple a tank to its side.

Richard Seymour made it look pretty easy.

He did throw too many interceptions, but overall had a really good season. The defense was atrocious, especially in late-game situations when protecting a lead. The kicker sucked all year, and at least two losses and the tie probably would have been wins with a competent kicker (their record was 9-6-1, not 10-6). Roethlisberger certainly is closer to the end than the beginning, but hes played well, and hopefully hell do even better now that he doesnt feel the need to force balls to Brown to keep him from pouting. Perhaps that was responsible for some of the ints?

I doubt Seymour was awarded a sack for that. Not exactly in the normal course of the game.
Dont picture him going down with one punch in a bar fight.

Unless the punch comes from Richard Seymour who drops him like a ragdoll. ( Yes, I used the same video twice in this thread but stories I’ve read from Ben’s past tell me he may been deserving of this punch and possibly much worse.)

Ha, good one. Ben got in his face & deserved to get dropped.
Wow.
I am shocked.
I guess you’re tensing for and expecting to be hit during the playing time.
Standing in a bar or just NOT expecting anything IS different.
Yeah he never really seemed to get what rape means.
