Ben Hsu fell asleep with the pair of wireless headphones still in his ears but woke up unable to find one of them.
Using an iPhone tracking feature he discovered the device was still in his room and heard its beeping sound following him around.
He said: I checked under my blanket and looked around but couldnt find it then I realised the sound was coming from my stomach.
He went to hospital where an x-ray confirmed that the location of the AirPod. He was told that surgery would be plan B, but the hope was that the situation would resolve itself naturally.
It apparently did. Well gloss over the details, but after washing and drying it, it still worked.
The battery was still at 41 percent! It was incredible, he said, calling his experience with the Apple product magical.

Take it from your rear, stick it in your ear?
He said it was magical.
41% battery still remaining! All you Apple haters are just going to have to seethe over this one.
Truly remarkable device.
Was this the same guy who as a kid dreamed he ate a giant marshmallow?
LOL. How many years behind Samsung has Apple been certifying IP68 phones?
Slid right down the eustachian tube, did it?
It’s amazing what some electronics will take.
Last summer I took off my hearing aid and put it in my pocket. {very noisy room and I couldn’t hear but the device made the noise louder] Later my while I was showering, my wife grabbed my jeans and washed them. The hearing aid survived the wash and also survived the electric dryer. The battery died in the process, but a new battery restored everything.
Why did he have it in his mouth?
I was wondering how this happened, too...
Maybe he was hungry in his dream.
This too shall pass
This makes me wonder if we all swallow things in our sleep.
I hate those things....couldn’t they at least make them flesh colored....people look REALLY goofy walking around with them sticking out of their ears, and worse if they are talking to themselves, too. (But, then, I’m getting old)
Why anyone would put these radiation emitting devices next to their brain is beyond me. The AirPods send a RFR signal from the right ear pod to the left ear pod...traveling right thru your brain!
I have no idea how those things stay in peoples ears. My ears must have extremely different internal structure than most people. I need to use head phones.
Well, that beats taking it from your ear and sticking it in your rear.
I put Q tips into my ears, against all warnings not to. So, I am an ear criminal.
But there is no way I am going to put a shitty ear pod in my head.
