There is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. Police Academy 101.
RIP and prayers sent.

I don’t know about 18-20 year old grandmothers, but there is plenty of 26-28 year old grannies in Detoilet.
Not sure if they have a newer chart, but they have a bar graph https://www.odmp.org/
Bears repeating, with emphasis.
Our military personnel die in auto accidents disproportionally, as well.
One thing I bet, less deaths from car crashes, as they are down for all Americans, on a per capita basis. Cars are safer than they were.
Thanks for the reposting. I’m not good with that sort of thing: if it doesn’t work with the usual < img src=, etc., I don’t know what to do!
“Yes it is spendy properties here. We have a small 3BR, 1.5 Bath no garage and a small yard that rents for $750/month plus bills. “
That’s $1,500 a month in my town...would sell for $325,000 in a day...
That chart doesn’t really tell the story. It includes deaths by heart attack, accidents, etc. The data I gathered below is from the FBI annual stats for 2015 to 2017, and from the National Police Support Fund for 2018:
Officers Feloniously Killed (https://ucr.fbi.gov/leoka)
2015- 41
2016- 66
2017- 46
2018- 88 (59% of the 148 total officer on-duty deaths in 2018) (https://nationalpolicesupportfund.com/2018-police-officer-line-of-duty-death-statistics/)
Hope this helps...
That's a good point. (Have police officers taken up wearing seat belts?)
On the other hand, deaths from illness are probably up because police forces have more older officers, including desk officers and other administrators, as a proportion of total forces.

What a man!

The late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s were the days of the “hippies” and the SDS, the Weather Underground and all their “Off the Pigs” mantra...
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind!
In a few words, psychotropic drugs happened. They are given to more and more people who are younger and younger, and the drugs were not safe to begin with. They do terrible things to the brain, but I'm thinking its planned to help the agenda of taking away our guns. Just sayin'.

The stats in post 5 end with some date 2014, the year of “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” lies by the Obama Administration and general disrespect and attacks on law enforcement by him and his media allies. In the 1950s, early 60s, the media were not actively or tacitly promoting the killing of law enforcement. The changed around ‘68. Look at the chart in post 5 again.
Post 70 shows some stats that seem to support a recent increase in “felonious deaths” of officers.
On the ODMP there is a link to 2019 deaths right below the picture of 4 officers down from 2014. It gives some statistics. It seems to me that K9 dogs are killed in the line of duty much more often. Maybe I just see that more as an animal lover. One officer down is one too many. These many are there to protect and serve. Yes, some bad apples but the majority are great people. Try watching LivePD and watch them in action. Don’t know if it is cause they are on TV but they seem to be nice guys just doing a job. RIP Officer and Condolences to the family. My godfather was a Police officer for 25 years in the Bronx, NY. Also please check out Blue Lives Matter website. Much more detail.
