A rare 1966 Shelby GT350 has hit eBay after being hit pretty badly in an accident.
The white fastback featured on BarnFinds.com is being offered with a salvage title, and its easy to see why.
The left rear corner is bashed in so far that the cabin is crooked, while the right front fender is also crushed.
It looks like its in pretty good condition, otherwise.
Theres no significant damage to its 289 V8, which the Glendale, Calif., seller says turns over but doesnt run because of a hole in the gas tank, and the parts of the interior that survived are in great shape for a 53 year-old-car car with 93,000 miles on it. ..."
Fewer than 1,400 GT350 fastbacks were built in 1966 and the Hagerty Price Guide says that their values run from about $125,000 to $250,000, depending on the condition.
Considering the high mileage and the fact that its equipped with the least desirable automatic transmission option, this one probably wasnt on the high end of that range before the crash, but presents an opportunity for someone up to the combined challenge of restoring it and getting the salvage title cleared.

I’m doing two restorations now. Doable, but a helluva lot of work. It will always be tweaked even after they are done.
I’d rather have a Mach 1. I like the looks of those much better.
Cool. What type of cars are they?
Is it numbers matching?
Yes per the article.
DAMN that must be awesome to behold!!
Got a Challenger but a newer one. Couple years old.
Redid exhaust to add about 40 or 50 HP.
Think is LOUD. And i’m 51 lol.
Cops expect to see a teen in the driver’s seat, not some out of shape middle aged man. :)
That’s all you ever see driving them are old timers. In days gone by it was the young folk and teens who built and fixed/restored these cars. Now? None of them can afford restoring vehicles which can easily run upwards of 100k and up. Now it’s the little old men from Pasadena with the $$.
“That’ll buff right out” in 3, 2, 1,
;’}
I couldn’t afford to buy one when I was younger. I finally reached the point where I could and bought one. Now that I’m retired I can’t afford to work on it!
Is there a Graveyard Cars that fixes Fords?
67 Mustang Cobra. A CAR barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild IT. We have the technology. We have the capability to REbuild the world’s first WRECKED 67 MUSTANG. THIS COBRA will be that CAR. Better than IT was before. Better, stronger, faster...
I was interested til I read it is missing the glove compartment door.
It appears not to be a real GT 350.No shelby vin plate on the drivers side apron under the hood.
And its a real GT 350
That’ll buff right out...
Because the glove box door probably had the mustang emblem on it instead of the GT 350 emblem.
Just now saw this...

Thats aside from the glove compartment, which is missing its door even though the dashboard is perfectly fine. Commenters on BarnFinds.com speculate that the owner may have had it signed by Carrol Shelby as many Shelby owners do with their cars and kept it for a souvenir.
Then again, as mentioned above...

That’s funny :)
Ah, I couldn’t afford 40k plus for a car until my 40s.
I don’t care how i look in them, I’m driving fast cars until I die!! :)
