Former Broward County Deputy Scot Peterson has been arrested over his failure to do anything to stop the Parkland gunman during the February 14, 2018, attack. On March 15, 2018, Breitbart News reported on surveillance video that allegedly shows Peterson standing outside building 12 while the attack occurred. Then-Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel told ABC News the video showed Peterson “arrive at the west side of Building 12, take a position” but never go in.

Seventeen innocents lost their lives during the attack.

Meaning this guy will get away with it.

The intent most likely is to try him and find him not guilty. Local taxpayers will be used to foot trial costs merely to sooth official nerves.

It will make the maggots life harder. Perjury will probably stick. Let us all pray he kills himself.

Only a fool thinks 16 months is a rush to judgement. Average time from crime to conviction to hanging in the framers day was probably 1.5 minutes (purposeful exaggeration). Show me a scintilla of evidence that the framers would approve 16 months of dithering. Justice delayed is justice denied.

A case hit the Supreme court as recently as 2005 on this very issue.

Look at all the medals... I was in Beirut in 83 and have half as many. Guess he got one for each gross of donuts he ate and each peter he puffed.

Of course one can be court martialed in the Armed Forces for “cowardice” but I’d be interested to see exactly what they charge this guy with.

My personal feeling is that showing the white feather is punishment enough. But that may be after a lifetime of reading Bret Harte and Jack Shaefer...

>>The police union and indignant blue family lobby will likely work it out so he quietly gets a retroactive paid vacation and full retirement.

He retired in his mid-50s and just started pulling down an $8,000 a month pension for the rest of his life. And the police unions and the blue family lobby will shout from the rooftops about how he deserves his pension and how we mere civilians just don’t understand what they go through!

We’d solve a lot of our problems with the police if we could go after their pensions when they mess up, and keep them from taking cop jobs elsewhere when they screw up. Might make some of them think twice about the attitudes they have - we try to hold our military to a high standard, don’t see why we shouldn’t hold cops to a high standard, especially since some of them dress and act like they are in the military.

Coward,
More
Former Broward Deputy Scot Peterson has been arrested on felony charges.

He cowered in Parkland while my sister died defenseless and lied about his failure to confront the shooter.

I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison.
