Reminds me of that stuff advertised on Fox News all the time that was “originally found in jellyfish”.

Most drugs come from plants, so why not the occasional fauna?

That goo is great for healing the wounds caused by Giant Salamanders.

“Roamin’ Thro’ the Gloamin with 40,000 Headmen”

What great lyrics and imagery! Capaldi credited it to smoking hash.

But someone came along and told me not to waste my time
And when I asked him who he was he said, ‘Just look behind’

So I turned around and forty thousand headmen bit the dirt
Firing twenty shotguns each and man, it really hurt
But luckily for me they had to stop and then reload
And by the time they’d done that I was heading down the road

’ it stung quite a lot too, but not as much as the merthiolate my parents doused me with when I was a child of five or six.”

Snowflake! My parent used tincture of iodine, Made Mercurochrome feel great.” :)

The Giant Japanese salamander is closely related. I wonder if its mucus has a similar property.

Its my understanding that the Japanese salamander is somewhat dangerous, has a bite like a bulldog.

Yeah, can you imagine today's college students getting painted with iodine or merthiolate? They'd claim torture, go to the UN over it.

I remember when Mercurochrome came out. I thought it was a miracle drug (when I was about maybe 12 or 13).

Was still based on Hg though.

Might have been the alcohol solvent that stung, I don't know. I think water was the solvent for Mercurochrome.

Now there’s only one song I know with the word “Salamander” in it.

Genesis - The Carpet Crawlers

There is lambs wool under my naked feet
The wool is soft and warm
Gives off some kind of heat
A salamander scurries into flame to be destroyed
Imaginary creatures are trapped in birth on celluloid

I skipped that one and resumed with “The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys.” That title always cracked me up.

My son visited a lab up in Bar Harbor that is doing research how salamanders can grow their limbs back.

When I worked in power plants, they got extremely cold during Christmas maintenance shutdowns. So the construction companies often brought in Salamander Heaters to warm us up a bit.

I forgot.....Sunny GOOdge Street...
Technically...you stated there arent many songs with the word “goo” in it....If you had stated that there weren’t many songs with the word “goo” as a standalone separate word you would,of course, been correct.
My heads starting to hurt with that tortured explanation.

Freegards...
