Unusable? In what way? I use it all the time.
I dropped Google Chrome, Google search, (I use DuckDuckGo too) and Gmail, around the first of the year, but knowing that George Soros acquired Mozilla, I just can’t use Firefox.
My substitute for Firefox is Waterfox, which has a Gecko-based engine and is open platform. Also, Waterfox supports Firefox extensions.
My substitute for Google Chrome is Vivaldi, which is highly customizable and is Chromium-based. And Vivaldi supports Google Chrome extensions.
By the way, Vivaldi is the best looking browser out there, and it has the optional bookmark sidebar like Firefox, which I must have with any browser.
I occasionally use Palemoon as well.

Can I override my Verizon browser with Opera?
I just disabled that feature (I think).
Go to Settings - Advanced - Reset and Clean-up - Clean-up Computer - then turn off the feature that allows Chrome/Google to search your machine for incompatible software.
PaleMoon has been my main browser for years now. What about it is irksome to you?
Firefox ousted its CEO for supporting marriage between a man and a woman.
I haven’t used it since.
.
I still like Palemoon though and I use it for my financial transactions, but we'll see how Brave does. If it starts performing to my liking I may make the final switch.
Pretty sure that’s a placebo and the scan takes place anyway. Note the weasel text on the label.
It should be possible, if you make Opera your default browser.
The article says “Heres why Firefox is better.” then continues its rant on Chrome. Did the author fail 9th grade English class?

Best post.
Dissenter Browser
Wow, that is a good browser!
I just installed it and it imported everything - all the bookmarks, history, even the previously-read posts on FR were highlighted! Excellent!!
*** BTW, first thing it told me when I surfed back to FR was that three 3rd Party cookies had been blocked ... ALL GOOGLE JAVASCRIPTS
(urchin.js)
Well, I really hope that you wont miss all of the YouTube commercials.
I haven’t seen one in months.
Brave blocks them for me.
Thanks for SlimJet tip. I’ll investigate.....
First Firefox chases some of us back to Chrome by disabling a lot of the useful add-ons and now this...they must be in cahoots....
Do you run windows or linux? I thought you had to use a nightly build and compile it yourself to run it on windows. On linux/ubuntu, Chromium is in the standard software repositories, all pre-compiled.
I have Chromium but use Vivaldi which is Chromium based. I like the feature set that Vivaldi has. I have Brave and Firefox too. I use firefox when I find a website (web application really) that doesn’t work with the ‘off brand’ browsers.
The big pita for me is that I use weather.gov aka NWS for my weather and their radar pages run flash and no one wants to support it anymore.
Here’s my local radar. https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=sgf&product=N0R&loop=yes
I have to give Vivaldi permission to run flash on that page, once everyday when I first start the browsing session. Brave won’t run it at all. Of course getting flash on linux is a trick too.
It’s almost real-time and you can set it to auto-update.
They have a radar mosaic that has the entire USA but it doesn’t run flash.

Can’t stand google and have never trusted them, at least ever since I heard an exec say that their dream is for you to be walking down the street and they know there’s a sale on something in a store up ahead that they know you’re interested in due to having your data profile so they can tell you about the sale. All based on your surfing and purchase history. Big Brother.
I use Linux. Zorin specifically. Win10 drove me here. It kept getting slower and slower every day of its existence.
