Maybe I missed this and hadn't seen it discussed here at FR, but a caller to Rush said there was a movement in CA to convince Rs and conservatives NOT to answer the census in order to deliberately cause a massive undercount of CA's population, which he argued, would then result in congressional seats being taken away from CA. It would "hurt" Californians by reducing their representation, but since they are always D-dominated, it really wouldn't hurt them.
Thoughts and arguments on this? Anyone in CA: is this gaining traction?

I am torn. I wish to obey the constitution.
On the other hand my state is not doing so. Should I not resist their illegal activities, like the sanctuary state garbage, in some way?
I managed to elude the last 2 censuses (censi?). They did not do anything to me.
The census people will send someone out to ask you the questions in person if you do not send it in. I know they visited me. Losing population causes not only loss of representatives but it also reduces the amount of federal tax dollars returned to a state. Part of sanctuary cities and states is to raise the population numbers to get more fed money.
Good luck enforcing that.

I own more than 1 house, last cenus when up at our farm in WI we got a visit. I had completed the cenus in Crook County, IL already, yet the woman insisted I complete one for WI. I finally said fine.I put 0 residents and handed it back to her. She was not amused.

I just ignore it. Eventually they start calling on the phone. I ignore that. Then they start arriving in person. I either don’t answer the door, or if if I get caught in the yard I tell them I am busy and they have to call in the morning and make an appointment. After a while, after spending a ton of money trying to get a hold of me, they just give up.
If a large number of people behaved like like this they would be overwhelmed and could never follow through. Libs would call this civil disobedience. I think it is a good idea.

Same thing happened to me last time. When the Census Taker showed up I made ridiculous responses but he just looked around while outside, and filled out the info for me.
Even worse, it's giving up representation in my state for the benefit of the Republican Party.

I was a crew leader in the 2010 decennial Census [I was also monitoring them as a conservative], and am re-hired for the 2020 decennial.
They make a GREAT effort to ensure that you're counted - but are leery about using the legal hammer.
If you REALLY want to make the Census person who is trying to get your information sweat, tell them that you believe that your information will not be confidential.
When they quote you chapter and verse about PII (Personally Identifiable Information) being "inviolate", play the Trump card.
"The IRS says that PII is inviolate - but they're going to reveal President Trump's tax returns. So, you're lying."
Throw the political trash that's been going around back in their faces.

No, I did not. IF I had had children there would have been more civil disobedience in my life. I suspect if we end up with a commie president civil disobedience will become a weekly, if not daily, occurrence.
Since President Trump is working so hard to get that citizenship question on the census I will answer it to the best of my ability.
