If we had faked it, the Russians would have called us out on it. No way they would have missed a chance to embarrass us like that.
Isn’t that the guy that Buzz Aldrin punched out for relentlessly harassing him?
He is a class-A, gold plated jerk.
I’m referring to Bill Kaysing as being the jerk, just to be clear.
I you have a good telescope, can you see items that we left behind on the moon? (ie. flag, rover, etc.)
When you achieve something stupendous then immediately turn away from it because - as a nation - you feel guilt over those unable to do it, people begin to wonder if you ever really did it at all.
Here is something that the government also does. Conflate nutty ideas on one subject with valid criticism on other subjects. That way the government can deflect any criticism that does not comport with their typically malevolent ends.
If you believe everything the government tells you, we know that former CIA director Williams Casey has succeeded.
Well they’re not :)
We humans can have wild imaginations and something about conspiracies must give us a hit of dopamine for some reason. At least some of us.
I believe VERY, VERY few but I enjoy many :)
...corroboration from Russia, Japan and China...
That is all the evidence one needs to know it really happened
Stanley Kubrick faked the moon landings.
But he was such a perfectionist he insisted that it be filmed on location.
My wife just told me that they are going to be projecting the Saturn V rocket on the Washington Monument every evening next week to celebrate the “hoax.”
We’re picking up my space geek NASA employee son to go see it next Friday.
The 16mm footage of the astronauts flying over lunar landscape in orbit is practically HD quality now that we get to view it in something of a higher resolution than 2nd generation copies over crappy television screens. How anyone thinks that could be faked even halfway convincingly is just insane. It isn’t possible.
The men who witnessed that through their own eyes, it must have been profoundly humbling. Apollo 8 was kind of the high point in a way, as humans had never left earth. That’s some serious balls-that-clank to do that, but I would have jumped at the chance.
Why? It is caused by the government’s ceaseless and insatiable desire to horde secrets and label as deplorable conspiracy nuts all those who refuse to swallow their pablum. If you straight away swallow all the lies the government feeds you, you are one of their beloved sheeple. I do not see a great harm in being a skeptical citizen.
There always have been kooks and cranks.
They’re just getting more traction NOW because government is less worthy of trust than ever:
People believe in conspiracies in places where there’s plenty of TALK about transparency, yet NONE of it in practice.
Behold:
A billionaire molests over 300 young girls, gets 13 months of local jail, part-time during the work week, gets his own emtpty jail wing and hires HIS OWN PRIVATE JAILERS..?
Sorry, that sounds juuuuust like Pablo Escobar-type incarceration. That absolutely does not sound like the USA.
Why doesn’t EVERYONE in America disbelieve the Apollo Landing..?
Under the circumstances I’d say we’re paragons of trust and civic participation.
There are a few people that I know that have “Never met a conspiracy theory they didn’t like”. Frankly they scare me .
So Grissom, White, and Chaffee died preparing for a hoax? I know they didn’t
Some people don’t want to believe that something so great, so cool and so American could’ve happened without their having been born yet.
I remember 1968, or 1969. The magazine SCIENCE AND MECHANICS had several articles about how the Soviet space program was a fake, and Gargarin never went into space.
The magazine should have been called FABRICATIONS AND MECHANICS.
Maybe the saw CAPRICORN ONE (1977).
everyone knows they were fake, because you saw the astonaut’s feet sink into DIRT/DUST, and NOT Cheese!
