Tonight during his rally, President Trump REPEATEDLY took the name of the lord in VAIN...!!!
Do you take your mothers name in vain Mr. President??? I tell you YOU DO NOT!!!! But tonight you DARE to take the Lord Gods name in vain!!! Do not be deceived....GOD is NOT mocked!!! Please, STOP it !
Deuteronomy 5:10-11 “But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. “You must not misuse the name of the LORD your God. The LORD will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.”
Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.”
Matthew 6:9 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”
This is a warning to all who think God will 'overlook' the act of blaspheming His name. HE WILL NOT. I will not matter if you are a street sweeper or the leader of the greatest Republic on earth......GOD will drop you like a stone.

You might care to “brush up your Shakespeare...”, as Cole Porter wrote in KISS ME KATE! Many of the “dirty bits” and “profanity” is clothed in words you’re probably unfamiliar with. And some of the jabs and jibes ( to use a term not in common usage in the 21rst century ) are allusions...things hinted at.
Personally I don’t take people who haven’t even created an “about” page seriously.

I missed the rally on TV. What’s all the fuss about? What exactly did POTUS say that’s so terrible?
Not to sound like a liberal but STFU FFS!
Actually that commandments goes a lot deeper then just saying “God” for no reason. It really means don’t CARRY the Lord’s name in vain. In other words, don’t claim to be a follower of the the Lord unless you really are. Don’t use it as a means of advancement or ego or false religion. THAT’S what taking (carrying) the Lord’s name in vain really means.
I will defer to those who say “him”, although the grammarians I checked differed from each other. I do think we might be picking some nits here.

For one thing, the word “God” is not God’s name. So, saying something like “God, did I have a tough day today” does not violate this commandment. “God” is God’s title. But God’s name is YHVH (we do not know exactly how it is pronounced, and Jews refrain from pronouncing it). It is this name (in the Hebrew original) we are forbidden to say in vain.
But the ultimate, and far more important, reason this sin is unforgiveable is due to something else, which can only be understood if we translate the verb of this command- ment literally. Do not “take” is not what the commandment actually says. The Hebrew verb in the commandment, tisa, means “carry.” The commandment therefore reads, “Do not carry God’s name in vain.”
And who carries God’s name in vain? Any person who claims to be acting in God’s name while doing the opposite of what God wants—evil. Obvious modern examples would include Islamist terrorists who shout, Allahu Akbar (“God Is the Greatest”) when they murder innocent people; or a priest or any other clergy who, utilizing the respect engen- dered by his clerical status, molests a child. There is little question Islamist terrorists and molesting clergy have both played a role in the rise of atheism in our time.
When any person commits evil, it reflects badly on the person. But when a person commits evil in God’s name, it reflects badly on God as well. The result is the only solution to evil—God-based morality—is thoroughly undermined. When associated with evil, God and ethical monotheism are thoroughly discredited. And that is unforgivable, as it dra- matically reduces the chances of creating a good world.
No atheist activist is nearly as effective in alienating people from God and religion as are evil “religious” people. As noted, the Hebrew word y’nakeh (“hold guiltless”) literally means “cleanse.” Essentially God is saying if any- one dirties God’s name, God will never cleanse that person’s name.

I didn’t see his speech so I didn’t hear it. I would prefer he not use the Lord’s name in vain.
He can use most any cuss words but I prefer he not do that. Nothing positive can ever come of it.
