Back in the 1990’s I attended a conference at the Arlington Hotel & Spa in Hot Springs, Arkansas. As a conference organizer, I was booked in the Ronald Reagan Suite. The hotel was a bit rough around the edges, but no problems — it was built in 1924. I was also offered a free spa treatment so I took it.

The spa had a medieval look and feel to it, which was a plus to me. After getting beat up by a huge blind masseuse, I went off for the mud bath treatment. That ended with a pedicure.

That was my one and only pedicure. I’ll get another if I ever decide for the full spa treatment again.

My daughter bought me a gift card for a mani-pedi for the first time a few years ago. I loved it. I get one every two months now.

My wife talked me into a pedicure a few years ago (when I was 55) and now I go with her once a year. The pedicurist does a much better job than I could ever do. Soaking in warm water (I can’t remember what is added to the water) is great and the massage is even better! It’s very relaxing. My4kidsmom and I sit there for an hour together and enjoy a bottle of red wine. She tops it off with polish, I never will. At almost 59 years old, I still play baseball (hardball) on 2 teams and my speed/quickness is one of my best assets...so I need to take good care of my feet.

i went with my husband the 1st time, introduced him to the ladies. He wasn’t gonna go in alone, lol. I don’t even like pedicures myself, but he goes 1ce a month or so.
He works in a gym, and lifts weights, and is a heavy guy. His poor feet have to drag his bones around, it’s the least he can do!

I will never have a pedicure. I inherited a predisposition to ingrown toenails. Had them all removed over fifteen years ago. You might call that a nuclear option pedicure.

The woman who does my wife’s toenails wanted me to get a pedicure. I insisted I didn’t need one. She said all men need one. I let her take off one shoe and one sock. She inspected my toes, replaced the shoe and sock, and admitted I didn’t need a pedicure.

I live in flip flops nine months a year and crocs the rest

My heels crack mercilessly

About one a year I get my heels grinded down by an old kimchee breath woman

Not much erotic about it sadly

At my age and vision, it’s hard to clip my own toe nails.
I’m thought about getting a pedicure myself.

That’s only half the problem. The other half
is being able to see what I’m doing.

And, Lord, please grant us the wisdom to know the difference between "people who think they can live our lives better than we can", and people who are just trying to help us with a helpful tip.  Amen.

For others possibly reading this thread with similar concerns (not you, sparklite2, heaven forbid!!), here's a tip that might help with the second part of those concerns.

Happy Monday!        :-)

Don’t take offense. My point was directed at the hair on fire depictions of a guy getting a pedicure. I appreciate your post.

One thing to try is Salicylic Acid that can be found in acne treatments like Stridex pads. You can make your own pads or even just buy a bottle and add a little to a dish pan tub that is big enough to put your feet in. Wipe your feet with the pads or soak for a few minutes, pat dry or let air dry and then apply a good lotion.

I have done this when my feet are cracked and it really works and it did not sting or burn like some other things I tried.

Not where I first found the tip but I trust the site.

If you’re being serious, which may not be the case, buying binoculars to clip one’s toe nails along with clippers-on-a-stick seems like a contorted way to avoid doing something that is much easier.

Those aren’t men.

I go occasionally with my wife. I'm not sure what you're compensating for that makes you think a foot massage is unmanly. But, I am sure that you'd never question my manhood in person.

votes social-communist
- does not work with his hands
- supports abortion
- goes to a hairdressor/salon
- shaves his chest and legs
- wears tight-legged jeans
- could find the right end of a steel-toed boot if the instructions were written on the bottom

Nope, none of the above...

Come back from a 6-month deployments - get the pedicure... Awesome feeling...

The Brooklyn, N.Y., salon was packed with men.

I might beg to dispute that characterization.
