Congrats to Governor Hickenlooper (Colorado) for going after Crazy Bernie's Medicare for All ideas.
Bernie's wacky gestures (first 10 seconds of the video) are an absolute riot! Bernie goes ballistic and shows his true nutcase colors on this one. Don't miss it.
Later on in the video, Bernie brags, "I've got practical experience since was a mayor." I looked it up, and it's true. Bernie was big-time mayor of Burlington, Vermont in the '80s, a town of only 42,000. Burlington is the 875th largest town in the United States. BTW, Buttplug Neuman's city of South Bend (100K) is 288th on the list.
Sure, Bernie. Lots of "practical experience" in the workforce for you, like brewing your own Maple Syrup as a hermit in the Vermont forest. Bwahaha!
both a bunch of hot air blowing out their mouth, ears, everywhere.
“Bernie reminds me of a terodactyl.”
Good analogy. Never occurred to me, but I sure see it now.
This race is shaping up to be 1972 all over again.
OMG they all look so incredibly stupid and gay.
Yes, even Nixon reincarnated could beat these losers.
Bernie combs his hair with a balloon.
Socialism is far more acceptable today than it was in the America of 1972.
Burlington, VT..... It may not be a very big city, but it’s definitely in the running for being one of the WHITEST. Amazing how all these libs talk about diversity and they all come from some of the whitest places in the country. I’ve always found that interesting.
My wife said that Bernie looked like he was going to stroke out last night.
Re: #20. She’s not aging well, is she? Anger will do that to a person.
Was the debate only on cable news? I looked for it on OTA TV.
“....Is his name Hickenlooper or Lickenhooper?....”
Neither. It’s ChickenPooper!!!
This time around, he is showing signs of desperation. His FREE stuff for everyone gig his wearing thin. He's got too much competition from the other clowns who are giving away free stuff too.
Hillary and the DNC sabotaged his campaign in 2016 by buying him off with a luxury lake house to keep him from hurting Hillary's campaign.
Tells me he is not a true believer but an opportunist like all other politicians are.
In 2020, Bernie will flame out on his own.
Does Bernie even know that a jump to a $15/hr minimum wage will cause a sudden spike in inflation that will make $15/hr worth no more than $8/hr today? Not only that but the jobs lost to automation and cheap foreign labor will be in the tens of millions.
We know the Dems are crazy, but not crazy enough to go with Bernie. I think you’re right, he looks desperate.
Then again, being angry and unhinged is part of Bernie’s schtick.
Trump going after Baltimore just before this Dem debate kind of stole Bernie’s false thunder. Trump is taking political heat for trying to Make Baltimore Great Again.
There is a connection, though one shouldn't overplay it. Distance can shield naivete and foster wishful thinking. You see it in the politics of public schools all the time. Liberals insulate themselves in upscale suburbs with good schools -- which is easy in communities that are screened by mortgage payment and zip code -- but demand policies that are disastrous for schools in middle and working class neighborhoods. A lot of the suburban "can't we all just get along" stuff is wishful thinking by people who are far enough away from urban problems to live in a blissful bubble of ignorance.
There is a long history of this. Google on "Noble Savage" or "Lo, the Poor Indian!" The latter phrase became a derisive, satirical catchphrase among the U.S. cavalry during the days of the Indian Wars in the West, when Eastern advanced thinkers in the ivory towers of the time were romanticizing the noble savages, while westerners were doing scalp checks every morning.
“Bernie looked like he was about to go postal last night.”
Agreed - and for that reason, I want him as the Democrat’s nominee next year!

Well said! It's a great way to explain why minimum wage laws are so damaging. I'm going to remember that one.
ChickenPooper.
You hit the nail on the head. Great post. And for a little more emphasis on what you wrote...older article but plays, perfectly, into what you said.
