NYC schools were most ‘violent and disruptive’ in state last year

New York City schools had the most “violent and disruptive incidents” in the state last year — accounting for more than half, with incidents including assaults, sexual offenses and bomb threats, a new report reveals.

The data released Tuesday by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli shows 17,991 incidents out of 32,084 statewide came from Big Apple public and charter schools — or 56% of the state’s total.

Yet more proof that the NYC public schools under DumblASSio are a total disaster. And the rest of the city ain't far behind, trust me. He is the one who wanted to get rid of metal detectors in a lot of schools because it looked bad that the schools actually needed metal detectors to protect kids from getting shot, stabbed, or slashed from other students. He is the one who made it nearly impossible for teachers to suspend poorly behaved students. He is the one who made it nearly impossible to to discipline any student at all, and don't think the students don't know it. They can spit on their teacher, threaten their teacher with bodily harm, disrupt every class they stumble into, vandalize the school, etc. and little to nothing will come of it. They can skip virtually every class during the school year and the guidance counselor will come up with some totally BS "online course"---read a few paragraphs and click a button from 4 choices---yeah, that's learning, all right--and get credit for the course as if they came every day, participated in class, did all their homework and passed all their tests. And if their teachers protest, it is THEY who are disciplined and punished, threatened with punitive measures or even termination. Is it any wonder 0% of Iowans wanted this piece of stinking excrement for president? Maybe they know something out there in flyover country that the apathetic know-it-all NYers don't know.

Soooo glad to be retired and out of this disgusting mess of a school system.

No demographics included in the report?

I am shocked they would not describe that, it might shed some light on the causes?

The Liberal fix will be to change policy on how incidents are reported.

The most recent demographic data I could find on the internet states that NYC public schools are 40.5 percent Hispanic, 26.0 percent black, 16.1 percent Asian and 15.0 percent white You can absolutely be sure that a LOT of the Hispanics are illegals. They even built a special high school for "Hispanic Students in the U.S. Less Than 4 Years". Now what do you think THAT means? And it's a gorgeous building, for people who don't even belong here.

Data from 2015 reports show that black students represent half of all suspensions, despite being 27 percent of the student population. By 2019, I'm sure that this would show many fewer suspensions, even suspensions that should have been given, due to DumblASSio's directive including a new discipline code that requires written approval from the education department to suspend students for certain infractions.

NYC schools were most ‘violent and disruptive’ in state last year

Since they're been keep this statistic, has there ever been a year when NYC schools have not been the most ‘violent and disruptive' in the state?

And to think, fifty years ago they were proclaimed to be the best in the nation simply because more money was spent per student than anywhere in the USA.

If more money is spent today on the NYC students, than elsewhere, they would still be classed as the best in the nation, even though they seem to be he!! holes.

Are you kidding?! Imagine special high schools being built for any other group of immigrants to this country.

Why are children forced into an environment that would win an adult MILLIONS in court?

Then the children are emotionally gaslighted when told that school is like the “real world” and it is good for their “socialization”.

Why do teachers open the doors each day to this child abuse?...Oh!...I know! Money, generous vacations, and gold-plated retirement packages. Gee! At least whores don't claim that they do it because they love children.

Oh, so now you're saying that teachers are worse than whores? I've known, from your nasty and way off-center posts that you are a person who attacks people who don't share your narrow world view, but are you in a contest to out-do your usual stupidity now? Maybe teachers open their doors each day because they are honestly trying to help the kids, even with their hands severely tied by the libtard commie administration. Any chance of being educated beats no chance at all. If the teachers don't supply an additional, or perhaps the only "eyes on" of the students, there would be more cases of child abuse not reported. The students may not have any wholesome moral adult to talk to or ask about personal problems except for a teacher they have. Learning problems would not identify themselves--it takes a trained professional to do that and seek remedy for it. Even in an environment like that described, teachers are not in it for the money.

How dare you compare teachers to whores, you self-righteous piece of offal?

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
