That’s exactly what would happen, and it would not take long.

Earth, wind, fire and water > all. (Except for God, of course, because He made them)

They had plenty of days to prep before it hit. Why do they never move their boats out of the way? Same in Florida. Saw some interviewed last week saying they weren’t going anything to get their boats to safety.

It’s horrible. Did we (the US) send them any aid? I hope so!

I understand the Coast Guard is helping with helicopters and I'm sure other aid will be forthcoming.

Where these people are at there is no where to move a boat to safety. The entire island area was affected. Most of these boats could not have made the voyage over to Florida. I feel very sorry for them.

The idiots in Florida, not so much. If you knowingly want to leave your expensive property to the whims of mother nature...play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Did you see the video of waves crashing into second floor window of a home and the staircase filled with water?

50 miles from the FL coast and these idiot boat owners don’t evacuate. Morons.

If only five they are some kind of lucky

That poor grandma with four kids...I hope someone got to her

Folks rescued in 130 mph winds

Not a lot of cover on Abaco or anywhere in the Bahamas ...it’s like being on a bunch of barrier islands

But they’ve done this for centuries

Because the storm pretty much spent most of its energy on the most of the islands in the Bahamas, the damage to the tourist industry could be massive. We need to see just how much of the Nassau--where the biggest resorts are located--is still viable for tourism. Abaco Island suffered tremendously, and the Chinese-built ports there may have suffered major damage.

Apparently the snowflakes didn’t like the fact that somebody Tweeted that Atlantis was still open for business. Heaven forbid if somebody actually tries to help the local economy.

Living on those islands entails risk. Hurricanes are relatively common. However , Being a British protectorate, shouldn’t the British and the incredibly wealthy British royals foot the bill...and reimburse any US taxpayer dollars spent ? It gets tiresome for the US to foot the bill for others’ problems. I guess that contribute s to the $24,000,000,000,000.00 debt.
