I’m a little surprised suppressors weren’t integrated into military rifles sooner. If I fire one unsuppressed shot without hearing protection my hearing is drastically muffled for the rest of the day. I would think that avoiding partial deafness in combat would be a real advantage.

Do you have any information on the Sig Sauer 6.8 round?

No, sorry I'm not an ammo/ballistics guru.

Do you carry it cocked and locked? Does the lack of a grip safety on a 1911 style gun every give you pause?

I like the way they look, but I’m not sure about the manual of arms for my concealed carry use. If the thumb safety goes off inadvertantly you have a light short throw trigger.

Sig makes things here in the US these days, much to the dismay of those who prefer the old world craftsmanship

Suppressors also reduce muzzle flash, reduce that distinctive dust cloud when firing from the prone, and allow the shooter to hear fire commands (and allows you to hear where the enemy’s firing from)

The only problem is that the direct-impingement gas system on ARs funnel really nasty ammonia-containing gas directly into your eyes and nose while firing. Horrible stuff.

Yep, those are all good reasons. Sounds like the SIG rifle system solves or reduces the back flow problem, at least according to their statement.

Which is why we need to primary RINOs with conservatives and take over the party.

The sooner MIL ditches the M16 and friends, the sooner the gun-grabbers lose a talking point.

Paul Ryan shamelessly wasted two years.

The biggest benefit is tactical coms, not noise mitigation, but that helps make the enemy wonder where the bullets are coming from, not really.

As a mostly deaf former Infantryman M60 gunner/rifleman/grenadier/BFV Commander turned engineer officer (bigger booms), I can tell you noise hurts.

How is a suppressor usable without the round going less than 1100 fps?

You're aware, of course, that that's what the gun grabbers have been saying about AR's for about the last 20 years?

Some European countries allow them for hunting. High end game farms use them. Saves ear drums

The suppressor on a hunting rifle cuts the blast down to preserve hearing, it does not silence them.

"..Do you have any information on the Sig Sauer 6.8 round?.."

If it's the 6.8 SPC II, then it's essentially a .270 Short

I've got one, it's GTG for the usual fodder and realistic hunting distances for deer and pigs.

There's always detractors and ignoramuses. d;^)

Why? I have no trouble whatsoever believing it.

Wanted an issue to use, just as they never banned second and third trimester abortion when they had the power to do so. Exploiting the issue, typical dead soul tactic from both pareties.
