Just wanted to ask a simple question. Do you think history influences culture? I mean particularly American history on American culture.
If yes, why? If no why not? Is it a major influence, or only minor?
I think that history's influence is so great that this is what motivates progressives to engage in book-burning-like behavior in order to try to cover it up.(Taking down murals and monuments and so forth; acting like some books don't exist and manipulating algorithms to make other books become non-books; etc.)
These book-burning-like activities attempt to diminish the impact of actions taken and words spoken in American history, but even in a diminished capacity history has a major influence.
The Progressives have had good success in making our history disappear (civil war monuments, etc.). They know that communism has a better chance of success in the US if most Americans don’t remember what a free country looks like.
Of course history has an impact. If not for the American Revolution we would still be under England’s rule.

Go to another country. You will observe that things are different. The difference is American culture.
I WOULD agree except American history is no longer taught nor is it taught correctly, ie, as it actually happened and without the smear of sjw crap and commie-Zinn lunacy all over it.
Now they teach kids that The Founding Fathers were a bunch of slaveholders, who only wanted independence because they didn’t want to pay their taxes.

This may sound like time for the tinfoil hat, but I believe American culture was created by the Soviets to destroy American values, which would result in a new political class of radical leftists.
I submit, the Soviet Union was destroyed only in territory, but not communist ideology. The ideology now runs rampant in American society and culture and without the likes of Donald J. Trump, the process of going full left wing would have happened under Hillary.
I submit to you, if Hillary was elected, we would never have another presidential election. Hillary would have put two left wing justices on SCOTUS, she would have filled all the judicial slots Trump filled with radicals and with a left wing SCOTUS she would have changed laws by fiat, like Obama, but worse. Then the purging of American values and our constitution would be completed.
It used to... Now alternative realities and lack of history influence culture. Just as it was planned.
