... these documents point to what Anthony Pelosi, a psychiatrist with the UKs National Health Service in Glasgow and Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow, calls one of the worst scientific scandals of all time.
Eysenck is revered as one of the greatest psychologists in history, his fame built on his work concerning intelligence and personality testing, known as psychometrics.
He long maintained the hereditability of IQ and personality traits and was a supporter of the work of people like Charles Murray and Richard Herrnstein, the somewhat infamous authors of The Bell Curve, a book that amongst other things makes correlations between race and IQ in the US.
Eysenck also published work validating aspects of astrology to do with the correlation between personality and astrological signs and was seemingly rather partial to parapsychology and the world of psychics.
One researcher who attempted a sympathetic review of the work, in cooperation with the pair, found, says Pelosi, unequivocal evidence of manipulation of data sheets, from the Heidelberg cohort, as well as numerous patient questionnaires with identical responses.
As David Marks, the editor of the Journal of Health Psychology put it, There is absolutely no scientific evidence that any of these statements are true, and Eysenck is proved by his own words to be guilty of some of the most egregious and harmful falsehoods made by any psychologist ever.

Of course that’s just crazy talkthe idea that one might inherit IQ and or personality from one’s parents. Everyone knows that IQ, unlike other traits such as height, skin color, body shape, etc. is distributed completely randomly across the human race.

The article leads with ideas like heritability of IQ that remain unrefuted - the actual scandal revolves around this:
"now another aspect of his work has come in for serious scrutiny, the research he carried out with his junior collaborator Ronald Grossath-Maticek on relationships between personality and fatal illnesses such as cancer and heart disease."

One of the telling remarks about an article on academic fraud is when they don't actually tell you what the fraud.
For instance, this statement "He long maintained the hereditability of IQ and personality traits."
We will leave aside the IQ question. Let's go to the point about hereditability of personality traits. Anyone familiar with dog breeds knows that that is the case. Border collies have one set of traits relevant to say, hearding, and Afghan Hounds another trait, perhaps useful for surviving in the cold weather and harsh climate of Afghanistan but which will drive any normal human being insane. Wolves are different from domesticated dogs. There is almost no such thing as a trustworthily domesticated lion. Domesticated cats are commonplace.
Of course there are variances person to person, dog to dog, etc. But there are consistencies as well.

Lol. All psychologists are fakes.
I am not a “psychologist” but I graduated with a degree in psychology. But I went to a “rat-runner” school which is the scientific side of psychology as opposed to the “tell me how you feel about your mother side”. My university now refers to the psych department as ‘brain sciences’. These guys aren’t fakes.

One of the telling remarks about an article on academic fraud is when they don't actually tell you what the fraud. The article gets around to the actual fraud in the 13th paragraph; it has nothing to do with heritability or IQ.

Intelligence is a social construct.
Yeah, it’s kind of like porn. Hard to define, but we all know it when we see it.

The tempest is about his work with another scientist, Ronald Grossath-Maticek, about "...strong associations between suppression of aggressive feelings which he refers to as rationality/antiemotionality and the subsequent development of lung and other cancers."
Seems the research was financed by a tobacco company. You know, the last target of the Lysenko Left.
Hans Eysenck is also guilty of not condemning Charles Murray and Richard Herrnstein, the authors of The Bell Curve, a book that among other things makes correlations between race and IQ in the US.
It was common, during the Inquisition, to dig up dead heretics and re-try them. It's nice to know the Left holds to tradition.

I have long maintained that Psychology is a fraudulent study, discipline and practice. I lived in Gainesville Fl in the 700s which place had then and I am assured has now more psychologists per square foot than anywhere else on Earth. I was acquainted with several and dealt with the ruin inflicted on many of my friends by their fads and fraud.

Everyone knows that IQ, unlike other traits such as height, skin color, body shape, etc. is distributed completely randomly across the human race.
IQ is not as likely to be inherited, particularly when you are talking about people at both ends of the spectrum. The tendency in all cases is a regression towards the mean.
Anecdotally, I knew a couple who both had genius IQs, and their children were slightly above average, at best.
On the other side, those whose IQ was stunted for developmental biological reasons (e.g. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) do NOT pass down the weakness to their offspring (assuming the mother doesn't repeat the mistake her own mother made).
Charles Murray is an honest researcher, and it is sad if his work relied on bad data. This kind of playing with the numbers is irresistible, and goes back forever. While Mendel himself was an honest monk, some of his assistants thought they were "helping" him by making the results statistically "too accurate" for his hypotheses.
While wanting to gain acceptance for a hypothesis is extremely tempting by itself, throw in glamour, fame, and political/social influence, (Mean, Kinsey, Michael Mann, Des Chardin) and it becomes irresistible. These days, throw in government funding, and it becomes nearly impossible to call anyone out on it.

I’m not so sure everyone knows intelligence when they see it.
