Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's final trailer suggests that C-3PO will die in the final installment of the Skywalker saga. One of the original characters to appear in George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy, C-3PO is an iconic staple of the franchise's lore - both in canon and in Legends. Anthony Daniels has portrayed the character in each movie and across multiple mediums for over four decades, and his time as the character is coming to an end in J.J. Abrams' newest film.

Oops, here’s what I meant to say.
Forty years ago, when I heard that George Lucas was planning to make nine movies, I also heard that he wanted R2-D2 and C-3PO to be the only characters that would appear in all nine movies. This news just means Lucas is getting his wish.
Early introduction of a gay character.
There is only one way this can work out perfectly... If all the characters die from global warming, perpetrated by humans on a planet called ‘Earth’. This scenario would end the series completely... Fingers crossed, and satisfy the hysteria of Greta the teenage autistic global warming propagandist.
I can’t believe I actually hitchhiked 9 miles to go to a movie theater and watch the original Star Wars movie... And I did it at least 5 or 6 times. The franchise has deteriorated over the decades, but what the heck... I’ll likely lay on my couch and download this one a day or two after it’s release.
Only on Battlestar Gallactica!
As a lifetime Star Wars fan - I have absolute zero interest in this movie.
yet much like RBG, they keep Carrie Fisher alive by CGI...
Luke was a white male. He had to die.
Jar jar IS the Sith Lord!
Same for me. I only watch the Original Trilogy and these days I watch Harmy's Despecialized Edition.
Though I did rather like Rogue One.
Does anyone really care at this point?
Muppet, Yoda was. Yoda, Frank Oz voiced.
Wasn’t he in pieces and rebuilt once before? I suppose you can kill of robots any number of ways like maybe he goes the way Ahnold went in Terminator, hydraulic press or in T2, molten steel bath?
But then again, I’m seeing on commercials for an upcoming sequel to sequel to sequel that Ahnold didn’t die after all...
Really I don’t understand humans after all I’m only trying to help....
This only caused a very minor disturbance in my “care meter”. I hated that character since I first saw it in 1978. Then came the Ewoks, then Jar Jar...let the franchise just die.
What? They are still making Star Wars movies?
“What? They are still making Star Wars movies?”
They have been rebranded as “Woke Wars”....so the answer is no...
“As a lifetime Star Wars fan - I have absolute zero interest in this movie.”
I am in the category too. I don’t want to see how far the story has fallen. It was one of my favorite franchises for years until the new stuff started to be belched out of the depths of a Sarlacc . Sorry I had to go there...
Kill them all and let gay Spock sort them out.
Does the series end with a timewarp that undoes episodes VII-IX?
The movie will probably be a hit. But there is almost no hype at all. The reaction to the release of new Star Wars seems to be ho, hum. Im not seeing it.
