A large contraption parachuted to the ground at a farm in Merrill, Mi., this morning.
One of the companies responsible for the space junk has already come to the farm to pick it up.
...Outside, with a closer look, they found a four-legged object with an aluminum foil-wrapped box. The top of the conglomeration had what appeared to be solar panels. Inside the box were two large cameras and one Samsung cell phone, according to Nancy Welke.
...At nearly the same time, a large balloon came down onto a power line in Wheeler, Mi., a few miles away. Welke says power had to be shut off in the area while crews removed the popped balloon from the power line .
Staff from a company called Raven Industries came to pick up the space contraption.
Samsung just this week launched a program called Space Selfie. According to the Samsung website, the idea is for people to upload their picture and a space photo of Earth will be merged with their photo. The photo will then be sent back to the original uploader.

Isn’t this the same as when a frisbee or baseball lands in your yard?
Or a neighbor’s tree drops apples over your fence?

Uh, and how much did the property owner get for turning the equipment over to the alleged owners?

Soon as I hear the word 'contraption ', I can't help but think of the movie The Final Countdown, when the rescued senator says of the helicopter, ''What is this... Contraption?'

Steel paddocks are expensive. I’m suspecting the farm mostly raises thoroughbreds.
