Another problem is the deliberate injection of lesbianism into the films. If there’s more than one chick in the group, she has to be attracted to other girls. And often, it is the only pretty one in the group. Charley’s Angels reboot comes to mind in this regard, but it isn’t the only one.
And then they wonder why no one wants to see the film and blame sexism.
Same issue with having a couple of cute teen boys on screen ... two of whom are supposed to have a crush on each other because liberals say at least 10% of the characters must be homosexual. And right now, it is approaching 20%.

Yes Bogie had a certain charisma. One in a million.

I miss Paul Newnan and Burt Reynolds.

This is not the ditzy proletarian gal that Harlow plays in the film but the real-life Hollywood superstar, serene in her majesty.””

Paglia may want to check a bio of Harlow before she says the purely set up picture IS in any way real. A clinical description of what was happening to Harlow as she neared The End is a bit of disgusting that wI’ll stick with you a long time.

She’s still relevant, intelligent and very interesting. I recently listened to Dennis Prager interview her (Oct 8, 2019) on this radio show. Things she said may surprise you. She’s very blunt and unafraid to answer tough questions.

Thanks!

Cultural commentary is Camille’s forte.

Thanks.
I hadn't heard her or anything about her in a LONG time.

Camille is a hoot. I recall someone back in the 90s thought it would be cute to put her and.Rush at the same table. They got along well but I doubt anyone else at the table got a word in.

Different cultures. There was a lot of mystery attached to sex back then. Now people are having sex and don’t need the symbols.

I watched the trailer to the latest Bond flick. None of the women in the film seem to have that Bond-girl oomph that we saw when Bond mania was at its height. And the black woman we’ve been hearing about who may or may not be the next 007 does not look attractive at all in the trailer. She’s looks like a big, strapping, mannish Michelle Obama type. Sigh.

If .007 becomes a woman, then the franchise will lose many .007 fans.

Camille Paglia?? Is she still alive? I'm amazed that ANYONE listens to her anymore.

Really? Any time I see something by her, I will try to read it. I think her cultural commentary is very well thought out, and she presents it incredibly well, even though I don't always agree with it. She's one of the very rare "honest liberals" left, and she is a REAL liberal.

I can honestly say that as hard as my mother tried to get me to appreciate art, I just never "got it," and remain a "heathen" to this day. I've often wondered if I had CP as an art teacher in college if that would have changed.

After five minutes in a class of hers you would have made up your mind.
