Jan. 3 (UPI) -- There is only one confirmed climate oscillation, the El Niño/Southern Oscillation, or ENSO, according to a new study.
Analysis by a team of meteorologists suggest another pair of atmospheric patterns, the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, or AMO and PDO, aren't real.
Scientists previously estimated that the AMO and PDO patterns, like ENSO, were defined by shifts in warming and cooling. But the latest research, published Friday in the journal Nature Communications, suggests these shifts in temperature -- mistaken as climate oscillations -- are best explained by human activities and natural variability.
"Our analysis throws cold water -- forgive the pun -- on the idea, advanced by some climate change contrarians, that certain aspects of climate change," study author Michael Mann, a climatologist and geophysicist at Pennsylvania State University, told UPI in an email. "For example, the increase in recent decades in North Atlantic hurricane activity can be dismissed as a part of a natural internal climate cycle."
Unfortunately, the latest findings mean climate modelers can't rely on the AMO or PDO patterns to help them predict climate shifts across smaller scales.

There are NO cycles, only human effects, and that has been true in ALL earth climate history, say the “scientists”. /sarc

Why aren’t the “oscillations” a part of their models? Because they are pulling it out of their a$$ as they go along...

Those fellows need to hold up on their dire predictions until they understand their data.
Is this the same Michael “Hockey Stick” Mann who preferred to lose a defamation lawsuit rather than share his climate data, as ordered by a court?
It is nice to know that settled science is so able to adapt to a changing narrative.

If one is a believer of the Word of God in the Bible there is no way mankind destroys the earth by any means. Only God created it and only He can destroy it. Humanity can damage it in regional locations. The earth is 3/4ths oceans and water. Many tracts and regions of land are sparse or uninhabitable. Don’t forget solar or global wind patterns. A volcanic eruption spews tons of ash and soot into the atmosphere yet nature handles it just fine. Scrooge alarmist preaching climate change doom—a crock of BS.

The Catastrophic Mann Made Global Warming kooks use a different language than real scientists. "Oscillations" and "forcings" are but two of their distortions. They also use a large number of acronyms to further hide their ignorance. It's best to just ignore them.
