Nature and Wiki obviously disagree -— please see my post 38.
Funny. I never knew that. Makes sense.
On that same note:
A co-worker did a DNA test, like you did. Posted the results, and some relatives came up on his chart. Additionally, so did one man who had no relational connections at all. This man contacted the co-worker to try and find out what their shared heritage could possibly be. They were not even in the same state or region.
But during the conversation, they found that they had lived in the same city when they were little children. Then came to find out the co-workers father worked in the same business as the unidentified males mother. This led to some interesting conversations about childhood play areas. Which finally led to the idea that someones dad had made friends with someones mom.
It still hasn’t totally played out yet because they are being extra careful with the information. Certain people are still alive.
Yep and I had a cool homeroom teacher in grade 9 high school in 1970 that had set up a record player and played that cut often while we were waiting for the school day to start. We knew that even back then. :)
The wiki info is obsolete and wrong as there are also rib bones from a different individual. They are definitely related. They were, by the way, very tall and robust as well as very intelligent - the carved hard stone jewelry is very beautiful.
Wiki sucks for most references as anyone can edit it.
In the last decade plus, we have had friends, people we did business with and strangers, who found out that their mother’s believed in free love, and sometimes lots of it. Or sometimes wive’s didn’t know that there was another wife of their husband.
So far everyone has connected positively with their unknown relatives.
One woman gets along better with her new ‘sisters’ and their mother than her ‘old sisters’ and her real mother.
In one situation, I got a phone call from a good friend asking what I knew about a doctor, who worked with the same company I did.
I told that friend that the man was a good friend and I helped to get him hired. Then my caller friend told me that his wife’s unknown sister was married to my friend. Could I help open the doors.
I called my corporate friend and told him what had happened and was happening. He said that he needed to talk to his wife. We hung up and in about 5 minutes his wife called in tears saying please connect me with my sister.
I told her to hang up and stay near to the phone. I called my friend out here and asked for his wife. She was in tears when she answered the phone. I told her to call her sister and gave her the phone #.
They bonded immediately, our friend flew back east in a few days to meet her new/old sister.
Not since college and it didn't end well. I had to chew off my arm to get home.
I would never sleep with a democrat!!

I found out my biological father was a man I never met. Not the man my Mother claimed OR the man suggested by other relatives. It’s not real easy when you discover your Mother was a slut.

A mortgage banker, we know was/is in your DNA shoes. He has 3 siblings and none of the four have the same Dad.
The last “father”, his DNA dad, was a wealthy man, and he willed the family home (the slut mother’s) to this guy. His 3 siblings were also taken care by the DNA and step dad. The slut mother died earlier and left her home to the last husband/father.
This guy and his siblings have gotten to know their half siblings.
Apparently, the major holiday dinners with all of the “relatives” could be a modern tv show, called “Whose your Daddy” are held in the now dead slut mother’s home, where he and his siblings grew up.
i wonder about the use of the evidently pejorative term for your mother. i do family genealogy and have discovered historically “recent” extramarital choices made on both of my parents’ trees (in the 1920s). historically, i think this stuff probably happened almost as often in the past as it did in the 1960s or even in the current day and age. hopefully you and your mom came out ok. i hope you don’t hold it against your mother.
How did that happen?"

Simple: 200 millennia ago, everyone drove diesel SUVs and exhaled CO2... <.SARC>
When my husband and his brother had to decide whether or not to sell the 40 acres they owned in southern Illinois, we drove there to see it. The neighboring farmer who wanted to buy it pointed out the luxuriously growing poison ivy and said it has been getting a lot worse. Separate study shows that poison ivy loves higher CO2 levels.
Poison ivy grows much better on formerly plowed ground. Goats are one way of getting rid of it, they eat it (in the words of one of my departed granduncles) “like it’s candy”. It is true (saw it done) but it’s really weird.
This land had not been farmed for many years. It had plenty of ripe timber. There was one very tall straight ash with a trunk 5 feet in diameter. The forester who walked the land with us said, “There is a thousand dollar tree.”
