Third Party looming?

The 2020 Election is not about Republican vs Democrat but rather Trump vs The Swamp. Both sides of the Swamp are in danger.

The 2020 Election is not about Republican vs Democrat but rather Trump vs The Swamp. Both sides of the Swamp are in danger. The Rinos hate Trump. The Democrats are terrified that Crazy, Socialist Bernie will get their nomination.

What to do, what to do?

In the Dark of Night, join forces to defeat Trump ("Orange Man Bad"). Run Romney as a "Centrist, Moral, Reach Across the Aisle" alternative candidate to Bernie AND Trump! "Bring the Country Together Again!"

Make photogenic Tulsi Gabbard, (She's a Veteran, you know") Romney's running mate. Get Bloomberg to throw his billions AGAINST Trump backing a Ticket that has a better chance than he.

Romney/Gabbard probably won't win, but could prevent either Trump or Bernie from getting the 271 Electoral Votes necessary. What then? Is the Election thrown into the House of Representatives?

Stranger things have happened.

For the record, I'm for Trump all the way. Just thinking about possible enemy stratagems.

Incorrect

The 2020 election is about capitalism versus communism.

Gabbard is personally attractive, she stands out against Hillary but she has none of Bernie’s legions, her numbers aren’t good. What are Romney’s numbers? If strength in numbers on both left & right are anti establishment, what support does Romney have? Never Trumpers seem to he diminishing. Please give your numbers.

I can’t see a third party getting any electoral votes. They could swing some states though.

The entrance barriers for 3rd parties are a significant hurdle for anyone, including billionaires (see Ross Perot). With 275? days until 11/3, it’s too late.

I could see Romney running as an independent to steal just enough votes to sink Trump.

Clearly, the American political landscape is headed toward realignments. This might come in the form of a third-party but more likely it will take the shape of substantial changes in the ideologies and driving issues of the parties themselves. In any event, there will be no third-party this cycle.

If the Republican Party wants long-term to become the dominant party in America, indeed if it wants to even survive as a coherent and effective political organization, it must continue the Trump programs. That means it must shed itself of the parasitical establishment swamp dwellers and attach itself to Reagan Democrats on social and opportunity issues but not on redistribution issues.

If the Democrats want to become the dominant party, they must avoid the temptation to sell out to oligarchs and turn away from cultural Marxism. They must embrace patriotism and eschew tribalism. They must abandon their whole culture that has been polluted by Critical Theory. I think this is an unrealizable commitment because it violates the fundamental animating force of the Democrat party, the accumulation of power to play God.

The danger is the Republicans will continue on as they have been with the Bushes, the Romneys, the McCains, the Ryan's, the Boeners and the McConnells always betting they will somehow stay relevant because enough of the electorate gets it that the Democrats cannot restrain their immoderate quest for complete power and a sufficient number of voters will hold their nose out of fear of Democrats and vote Republican.

Romney/Gabbard probably won’t win,

-

But under that scenario they will win, because you failed to take into account the massive cheating which will have every illegal, dead, duplicate, multiple ballot new voters, last minute found ballot boxes popping up everywhere - such that the number of voters will exceed the total population of the US, and if that doesn’t work they will try something else

"No, there is no 3rd party looming in 2020."

Agreed for 2020. A better question though may be this: what becomes of the GOP after Trump?

I fully agree... We must keep believing that the majority of Americas are still honest hard working folk who love their kids, their God and their country... If that isn't true anymore, and California is the new prototype of what America should be, then the hell with it.. Let the muslims and the commies have it.. It wouldn't be long before the Chinese would find the idea of a "Robert Mugabe" with 10,000 nuclear weapons to be total unacceptable and would put an end to the situation...

Yes, it’s the libertarian Party.

I know a bunch of millennias who consider themselves libertarian.

As long as they don’t pull the trigger for a dem, although I’d prefer they do so for Trump because I don’t want him losing enough votes for a dem to win by default.

It is rarely a good idea to start drinking before breakfast.

Sometimes the wife slips a little rum into my coffee, but not every day.
