Bay Area residents — despite being swept up in an unprecedented economic boom — are growing ever unhappier with the place they call home.

Nearly 3 in 4 residents think the quality of life in the Bay Area has gotten worse in the last five years, according to a new poll of registered voters conducted for this news organization and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. That marks an astonishing 10-point jump in dissatisfaction from last year.

But Rachel Maddow said not too long ago that "San Francisco is what happens when liberals run things?" You mean it isn't a panacea?

Nearly 3 in 4 residents think the quality of life in the Bay Area has gotten worse in the last five years...

I was in SF a few months ago for the first time in about 15 years. From 1984 to 1999, I went every year to a conference and loved the city. My return was such a disappointment. Human feces on the sidewalks, needles in the gutters, drunks sleeping in their own vomit in doorways. I'll never go back.

Capitalism is about giving everybody an opportunity to move up.

Socialism is about bringing everybody down to the poverty level. Except of course, for the designated elite.

My wife and I visited two years ago and walked a lot. We didn’t see poop, but we did go into an underground rain terminal that had elevators that reeked of pee and poop and had a sign saying they were out of commission.

There were definitely bums there, too.

All this within 2-3 blocks of the Intercontinental hotel.

“Socialism is shared misery”.

That’s right. Socialism spreads the misery except for a few like Bernie Sanders. But not to worry, Bernie will toss out a few crumbs.

Too bad, and it’s certainly not just the SF area. People all over the state from north to south have been disenfranchised, can’t afford it, as they watch their taxes, regulations, utilities, fees, fines and everything else going up and up...Very sad to think that was once a great state to live in and raise a family. Like my parents buying a brand new home on one income in CA... On a single income!!!

Try that nowadays in CA and most would drop dead of a heart attack. No joke.

Stay out of Texas. It was shameful to hear that 7000+ turned out to cheer for the old sick Communist inHouston today. Too many foreigners and Blue State transplants who are suckers for all of Bernie’s pie-in-the-sky promises paid for with Other Peoples Money. Too bad university idiots are allowed to vote..

Which makes sense, since there is little damned difference between the parties.

Donald Trump staged a hostile takeover, but he is from outside of the Republican Party.

Can the change hold past 2024?
Pence is riding Trump’s coattails. He is not a guy with the capacity to maintain what Trump has built?

Who is there?
