I just finished reading a Sci-Fi novel, written in about 1938-9, where in a ‘Future Society’, 2085 in the book, people were given money by the government to ‘consume’ goods and services. that was in addition to any money you made from your job if you had one. People could live off the government gratuity and be artists, musicians, etc, or earn a paycheck doing whatever they were skilled at..................
Also sounds like a SC branch of a Midwest based electronics recycling and resale crowd.
Only if it busts a hydraulic hose................
Well, yeah, next time we go to Waffle House!............
Engineers have been thinking about this for a long time, it just wasn’t economically viable.
Then modern progressives came along...$15/hr? Enjoy your $0/hr.
No. No go on that one too.
His cousin is the cook there. The HPV sores are still oozing.
Yep, $15 and hour made it ‘economical’.......No health insurance, no unemployment insurance, No SSI, No Medicare, Never late to work, never ask for a raise, never take breaks..................
When I saw Burger Chef I thought “are they coming back?!”
But where does the govt get the money?
Can this robot can be trained in the art of voting early, voting often and voting democrat?
Well, when I was working at a Jolly Pirate Donuts in High school, I noted that the large mixer that we used to make the icing would routinely leak lubricant from the paddle shaft into the icing. Although I’m sure it was a type of food grade mineral oil, that and the metal it was lubricating encouraged me never to eat another donut.
Sooner or later, that thing likely will leak some lubricant on the food it’s preparing.
...AND, heaven forbid, they’ll actually get the order correct!!
“Incrediburgible!”
As automation becomes the logical choice to higher minimum wage demands and the loss in wage tax revenue one might consider a business robot tax to replace lost tax revenue and higher social program costs
It might be old news but my local Mickey D just installed 4 new kiosks for ordering. I saw them in Canada a while ago but first time I saw them here.
Open sores? I would have been outta there.
A friend and I were at a restaurant & had gotten our water. She went to the bathroom to wash her hands & as she came by the kitchen, the cook was coughing/hacking - sounded like he was working up a fur ball & she said he didn’t look so good, appeared sick. We left ... fortunately, in this circumstance, we had not ordered yet.
Someone in the dairy lobby will hack the software and I will STILL get cheese on the sandwich I clearly and specifically ordered without the stuff.
