We had a nice lady move in last summer, she lives in the building to the side of me, walks with a walker, has UTA pick her up for grocery shopping, etc. Never seen her kids...
One day my neighbor from upstairs and behind me came down an we were on my patio having tea, she came over and introduced herself, we had her join us...
Her kids won't talk to her, won't let her see her grandkids nor help her in any way because she is a Trump Supporter...she is 79 years old...now I in my most humble opinion think this is one of the most asinine situations of all times, but guess what, it goes on all the time and all over...
When my daughter and I go shopping, we ask her what she needs and we get it for her and she pays us after we deliver the food, we have her over to dinner and we include her into things...never once have I seen any family members or grandkids...
Is that how Jesus taught us to live?

After I wrote that I thought:
hmmm...I do get carried away with my opinions on here, such as yesterday, and I'm not above telling people what I think nor where nor when and sometimes the biker and trucker language does come out, you see I”m not the sweet old grandma that I look like at times, and yes I spend a lot of time in that little booth asking Jesus to acquit me of my sins...ahem...and I spend a lot of time on my knees with my Rosery...but darn it all, sometimes you just have to say what you think!!!

You are doing the right thing. Sometimes your family is not blood related. Honestly I sometimes wonder if this is how one of my kids is going to be with me and my husband. The other one has a clue. Both have been raised the same way. Keep hoping the first one will turn now that they are starting to adult on their own. Long distance hasn’t helped the situation either. I just keep praying.
My heart really goes out to your neighbor. Congrats on your caring actions, words & attitude.
Am reminded of the Biblical warning that we would fight against brother, sister, neighbor etc. in this era. Sad. I pray the declass occurs soon.
Had an appliance repair pair (married couple) over to look at my dysfunctional washer today. They gooobed over my Trump Flag and Trump T-shirt (”If you don’t like Trump, then you will probably not like me.”)
