So true.

I think I need to turn the news off, however. I’m starting to get very frightened. Mostly for my children.

I’m older than my husband, and one thing that keeps driving me to clear out, divest, and organize, is that I will probably die first. And I’d hate to leave him with the enormous job of clearing out all of my accumulated *stuff*.

I’d prefer that he bless me when I toss off this mortal coil, than curse me for being a damn pack rat :-)

I am guilty enough of being a pack rat, but mr. mm qualifies as a downright hoarder.

However, the Lord is working a real miracle in his life and he’s actually starting to get rid of stuff and says it feels really good.

Every time we throw out a trash bag of stuff we cleaned out, I say something about having lived with that much trash, literal garbage, for so long.

I hope he keeps ‘feeling good’ :-)

OK... that’s funny. I don’t crochet (any more) but might get some white yarn and make a few of these for gag Christmas gifts. (Although I’m hopeful that by Christmas this TP obsession will be old news.)

“I like to make quilts and at this point, I could make several more without having to go out and buy fabric.”

I have quilts stacked up, and several hanging in various places. I’d love to put them on beds but with five cats I don’t do that. Hairballs ... Most are hand quilted and I like to keep them nice. I may try to sell some.

And I have ten tops on hangers. I’ll have a hip replacement this summer and will quilt one or two when recovering.

I inherited my best friend’s stash, books, notions, machines in 2018 (has she been gone that long?), so haven’t shopped in a year.

I have two in the works and plans for a couple more.

Your quilt collection sounds enviable.

Speaking of fiber arts, I’ve recently been getting emails from a number of yarn shops that I frequent. The shops are going to mail order only. Folks might want to check before venturing out to any of theirs.

I think I used every color in that ‘Stripes’ series and made a hat and scarf set of each. So many bright colors that I thought younger kids would love. :)

“I am FINALLY tackling the filing, a chore I HATE.”

Me, too! I have found, though, that if you just put it all in a basket of some sort and don’t look at it for a year, then you can just shred it all at the end of said year and put it in the compost or use it for animal/chicken bedding.

Easy Peasy! ;)

I went through that same ‘catharsis’ when Beau asked me to marry him and we had TWO homes to sell, and then I needed to move my things out here to his farm.

I left quite a bit of furniture behind for the new owners of my old house. I did keep all of the antiques from my family and I guess it was meant to be as everything we had/liked between us all blended really well.

His deceased wife was quite the pack rat - and she also had this GORGEOUS curio cabinet (floor to ceiling in size, lighted, etc.) and it was full of nothing but CAT figurines! OMG! I had her nieces pick out anything they wanted, then I took the rest to thrift, along with so much other stuff, it was mind-boggling. I stopped counting at 29 trips to drop off stuff!

I re-filled that cabinet with Beau’s hunting awards and photos. He’d never had a ‘Hero Cabinet’ before and it turned out really nice.

There are still a lot of family photos that need to go to her brother and a different niece.

I always have a box filling up to go to the local thrift shop...which has CLOSED temporarily due to the virus. But I’ll keep ‘shedding’ on my end and take it to them when we get the all-clear. :)

Oh, very pretty! Do you do various ‘holiday’ designs all year?

Good info, Mew! I shop mainly on line for yarn because I live so ‘far out.’

I hadn’t thought about those stores closing!

I just checked my email, more craft shops in addition to yarn now added to list.

I purely hate buying fiber on-line, but I love all these folks so I’m gonna spread a little love anyway.

Mr mm just informed me of this.....

Amazon BANS sellers shipping non-essential items to its warehouses and will prioritize food, diapers, household cleaning products, and pet and medical supplies as it tries to handle HUGE surge in online orders amid coronavirus panic

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8122029/Amazon-SUSPENDING-shipments-non-essential-items-prioritize-medical-goods.html

Might be tough to get yarn these days if you order through them.

If you go through a private retailer, you’ll probably be OK.

And I'm going to add this in case any crafty types from Fedzilla are lurking: Federally subsidized business interruption insurance, especially for small biz, that will cover force majeur/plague/pestilence/freaking alien invasions from Mars.

You feel me, Fedzilla?

So far I have done Christmas, Valentines and St Patrick’s Day as well as some other match my outfit ones. I love big and or dangly earrings but they are just too dang heavy and these are light weight.

I quit thread crochet 30 years ago because I had babies and now they are all out of the nest and I picked it back up again to make decorations for my youngest’s vintage wedding and that led to this.

I also did a bunch of snowflakes with pearls at Christmas and am making a tapestry of a Christmas tree with them, but have bogged down on sewing the snowflakes onto the fabric.
