The local Walmart has 5 quart bottles of Conventional Super Tech 10W-30 for $13.98 and Synthetic for $14.88. Regular quart bottles of all brands/grades are also at months ago prices.
These are the same prices for which it has been selling for months. With the price of oil at around $22 a barrel, that is WAY too high for oil. Doesn't seem to be right with what is going on right now with the whole region in economic distress. Never did see Walmart as gouging, but on this item they are.
No. They are not gouging.
Well, I suppose you COULD buy it from a competitor.
No gouging going on. The oil on the shelves was not refined at the current crude prices. It came from crude at much higher prices.
Actually that sounds pretty reasonable in today's market. Not much more than the Indian dealer would charge to do my Scout if I didn't do it myself.
Please refer to post #3
You have way too much time on your hands. Price gouging on motor oil. The transportation cost is more than the oil.
I think your price gouging on the cost of vanities. I notice your not a contributor.
Youre being ridiculous
Walmart bashing has reached a new low
Disgraceful
You have never owned a store have you?
They bought truckloads BEFORE the oil price went down.
In addition, what the price per barrel is today takes months to work it’s way through the system of refineries. Unless you wan to burn crude oil in your vehicle.
Maybe “price gouging” can be a good thing in a free country. Maybe sometimes.
Is this post a joke!? Good grief.
Maybe you should just buy a barrel of oil and then you are set for life.
It can go up when they change fuel and air filters but it’s worth the peace of mind. It’s a 4x4 that gets well used.
Walmart’s prices are always based on how much they buy it for, then can be reduced as either a) better deals are negotiated, or b) they want to get rid of an underperforming product.
It’ll take a while for the price drop in oil to get registered in shelf products.
And a little FYI, price gouging is raising the prices of essential products and services during a disaster from prior to the disaster levels. They haven’t raised the price and I think you’d find it really hard to assert it is an essential product.
Probably won’t go down though with the lower price of oil since we’re staying at home so much.
Man, you got flamed here. You can always ask the Admin Mod to pull this thread.
Of course a percentage of the cost is in the additive package.
Maybe an expert on here can comment how much?
Don't you know that emotions rule during the Zombie Apocalypse?
Anf if they don't eat your brain we only have 10.5 years left because of global warming...I mean climate change./sarc
Oil has a much slower turnover time than gasoline. So therefore it will be much longer until the lower cost gets to retail.
This clown should get a job actually making something like steel or work in an oil refinery, and take a few accounting and economics classes.
Wow, you’re getting flamed a bit.
But now for the real question.
Were you wearing pink spandex pants, engineer boots and a crop top?
