MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin’s chief medical officer for communicable diseases said Friday that data on coronavirus infections continues to show that the state is “flattening the curve.”

Dr. Ryan Westergaard first said on Monday that there were positive signs with the slowing increase in COVID-19 cases, a message he repeated again Thursday and Friday.

“We are flattening the curve,” he said. He called it a “glimmer of hope that what we’re doing is making a big difference.”

Even with the positive news, state health officials have said Wisconsin may not hit a peak in cases for weeks and they won’t project when it will be safe to loosen the limitations on movement and allow businesses to reopen. Gov. Tony Evers’ emergency order for people to remain at home runs through April 24, but could be extended.

Evers (D, WI) will extend it. I’d bet the farm on it.

I’m VERY surprised he hasn’t done more to screw up our Spring Election on April 7th! He must still have the 30K ‘found at the last minute’ ballots that swept him into office, still stashed in Milwaukeestan and ready to go for our Supreme Court race!

We’re really doing quite well, all things considered.

Wisconsin NEEDS TO RE-OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

He just announced today that he calling a special legislative session tomorrow to try and extend the election and allow mail ballots. In other words, to allow time for Democrats to harvest votes and steal the election.

We’re being set up for the “Al Franken” maneuver.

Like Rockford’s business card press in the trunk of his Pontiac.

He can ‘announce’ all he wants. It’s a non-starter. Our Republican House and Assembly aren’t going to pass diddly to change this election.

My little Cow Town is ready to vote on next Tuesday*.

*Democrats vote on Wednesday. LOL! :)

Pick Wisconsin

Looks like Wisc. is still on the front end of their death curve. A bit too soon to tell.

Wisc is lagging NYC in time as the CV burns through America..

I have no doubt the rats stole the Wi Governor race so if he has not stopped the SC Election you can bet the fix is in. And yes bet the farm he will extend the House Arrest. Those of us in the blue will be lucky if we are out in July.

The rate of increase of national deaths is down 3 days now.

Not a very long period, but to use a phrase the Corona Cheerleaders love, just wait two weeks.

Gretchen, that woman from Michigan, must have done something wrong. Why are three counties such a mess in Michigan, and Wisconsin numbers coming down?

That was a great prop.

I’m glad Rockford wasn’t a gadget heavy show.

With Angel Martin around, who needs gadgets?

That was a very neat website - thanks for posting.

A couple of observations:

The uncertainty in things like projected deaths and ICU beds needed is quite large.

If you want to see something scary, go to the New York entry, and scope out the difference between the number of ICU beds needed and the number expected to be available, in their worst-case scenario. If it comes to that they are so screwed - and I can’t imagine Cuomo looking good after that, no matter how slick his spiel. And apparently we find out by next weekend.

Yep, the UW models are more like weather models [currently pretty darn good 5 days out] than Climate Models, but do have greater uncertainty than the weather models [the climate models have surprisingly tight confidence intervals ;-)].

I have four States of particular interest and like to compare the modeling differences among them.
