Some scientists and commentators, like leading coronavirus expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, have referenced the possibility of a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the fall, following expected slower growth rates of COVID-19 cases during the summer,

Fauci's been saying we can't open up the economy again until the death curve is flat - when projections were that would happen late summer or fall.
Now that is projections have been completely blown out of the water (like his AIDS projections, when he was getting billions of government funding for that program,) he is making noises we should now keep shutdown to avoid the "second wave."
This guy has left behind a pile of BS taller than he is. Oddly, the MSM is not challenging him on it. He is 2020's Michael Avenatti - beloved by CNN and the rest of the leftie media.
BINGO!
Another FReeper suggested (forget who) that maybe we are in the 2nd wave right now, and the first wave was back in November-December when all sorts of people were getting a weird flu-like disease which tested negative for flu.
Little Hitler Fauci would like to permanently shut us down.

BINGO!!!!!
Half of my family got sick and tested negative for the regular flu. Some were sick for weeks with cough and chest tightness.
Hospital associations and insurance companies free BodyMortgagers cash waves. Insurance all suited up in their PPEs, “cause we’re all in this together “
Summer isn’t doing good for S Areica and Australia. Central America is hotter than summer and its getting rocked. This seasonal Falsey BS is BS to get us to think that if we see hope of this ending we are wrong. Send Falsey to front lines with Drs that care about patients and are giving them hydoxyquarquine !!!!!
“Fauci’s been saying we can’t open up the economy again until the death curve is flat - “
WRONG!
What the president is trying to do is to balance the public health issues with the fact that this is having an enormous impact on the economy of the country, which may actually indirectly even cause a considerable amount of harm and difficulty even health-wise, Fauci said. So its a delicate balancing act which the president is trying to get right. And were under very intense discussions right now about what the most appropriate timeline is and, if we do modify it, how to modify it.
Fauci was then asked if he was responsible for weighing both sides of the scale, and he was direct.

No, I dont consider the balancing act, he said. That is a very good question. The president has the awesome responsibility of considering every aspect of this. I just give public health advice completely clean, unconnected with anything else. He has to factor in other things. And thats the way he operates. He takes advice from a number of people, from a number of different vantage points, and then he makes his decision.

I agree this article is probably exaggerated. However, a lot of people miss the point that these deaths are in addition to flu deaths this year. No pun intended but 60000 additional deaths in a few months is nothing to sneeze at. It isn’t just the flu, it’s in addition to the flu.
It was the end of January that our family went through it. Husband ended up in emergency room.
The predicted second wave of SARS never came.
Of course there will be subsequent waves. But they will be in local clusters and patterns, and spread variously.
This thing isn’t going to burn through the entire nation in a week and be done. Obviously.
The question is, when can they start phasing out aspects of these lock-downs and quarantines? The answer is, fairly soon. They just need to get past what would have been an extremely taxing first spike, and having been flattened down, begin allowing people to get back to work (albiet with new distancing and safety standards). Even schooling wont resume in the old ways, but it will. The last things to change will be concerts, arenas, and large gatherings. Not until there’s a vaccine or proof of full herd immunity
I disagree with the notion that there will be a second wave that’s worthy of a second shut-down
If there is a “2nd wave” there can be a violent reaction the likes the world has never seen.
It would be VERY interesting if they tracked down the people who tested negative for flu back then, and do the antibody test on them for COVID-19.
I agree 100%. My wife and I were very sick and we were told it was a respiratory infection not the flu.
Doctor Doom here is getting annoying
Once he went against Trump on the malaria drug it was pretty much over for him. He is just an opportunist scum bag, he needs to retire.
He can shove his 18 months of bureaucratic nonsense up his rear.
If we get to the part of the curve where it goes down to essentially no new cases, no deaths for a period of time, I think it makes sense that you have to relax social distancing

Maybe this guy changes his mind every time the wind blows.
It is possible, I even suggest this thing could have been around in nature for years undetected since the symptoms are so similar to the flu or common cold.
When is this SOB admit everything is just a guess....and his so called “expert” status is anecdotal at best.
Dr Death strikes again.
