Only people in my area I see wearing mask are older people and people with heath issues.
There are a couple of reasons people are not taking this serious (Sad list)
1. The WHO put out a 3.5% estimate that is not accurate.
2. When the experts first brief the nation they brief it like it was going to hit the entire nation at the same time. It did not

4. A lot of people in my area are convince it is a Hoax (aka a plot to take Trump out). (President Trump Speech at rally in SC misquoted by mainstream media)
5. People like Project Veritas going around showing empty hospital and getting people to say it is overblown and other youtube channels doing the same.
6. A lot of people think Bill Gates is trying to take over the world with a coronavirus vaccine or coronavirus immune registry
7. Then way out in out of this world theory is 5G is causing this. I saw Pastors say this
8. Some people do not believe the virus is real because the left thinks it real and Trump is not doing enough to stop it. Political Bias.
For me and my wife we continue to practice caution. If President Trump briefs the virus is a threat, it is a threat until he is proven wrong.

Nobody takes the subway right now except people who really have to. People basically hate the thing.
You are right about the possible contagion. My SIL was an ob/gyn nurse and always went straight to the shower when she got home from work, even though she did not work in a contagious part of the hospital.
Every time I start to feel weird about this whole thing I remember that I am not on the front lines.
