As some momentary relief from a sports less world tonight Thursday is the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. I will be booing Roger Goodell. From all the reports I have read the Bengals and 'Skins are locked into picking Bayou Joe Burrow and Chase Young. Where the action might get interesting is Detroit at number 3 with reports the front office is divided in who to pick and other teams eyeing to move up to perhaps pick off Tua. Be interesting if there are technical issues during this virtual draft.
Waiting to see who the 49ers pick up - whoever it is, the 49ers gave up DeForest Buckner to get him, so expectations will be high. I’m hoping for one of the blue-chip WRs.
There are questions about ‘Bama WR Jerry Jeudy’s knees. He supposedly has damage to his knee meniscus making him at risk for early onset of arthritis of the knee. Perhaps he might drop to 49ers at #13.
Being a Raider fan, I’d like to see them pick up the WR from Oklahoma and the best CB available. Or if they get good value trading down from #19, then just the top-tier WR and again a CB and other defensive help on the interior line.
Jeudy was considered the best WR going into the draft - he’d more than make up for the loss on Emmanuel Sanders if he’s healthy.
Linky no worky.
Did my Jets make their first terrible choice yet??
I don’t follow drafts closely.
It doesn’t matter when you’re a Jet fan.
I heard a few weeks ago that the league and teams were going to do a test run - but I haven't heard how that went, or even confirmation that it actually happened.
Perhaps - but they won't announce it until tonight when it's their turn.
with reports the front office is divided
Please, show me those reports.
Besides corner-backs, nickel backs, linebackers, offensive linemen, wide relievers and a kicker they’re good.
And thanks to the nines trading the Colts Bruckner, Colts fans can strike D-line off our draft shopping list. Colts now need receivers for Rivers to throw to.
Anyone have a link to watch the draft online? Or at least watch the virtual version of it.
The draft begins with Detroit. Teams are having a tough time figuring out if the Lions are going with Jeff Okudah or Derrick Brown. A league source indicated to me GM Bob Quinn favors Okudah while head coach Matt Patricia wants Brown. If the Lions do trade back, it’s believed they won’t go past the Chargers’ pick at No. 6.
Tagovailoa is said to be dropping. He might last till the middle of the first round. People are worried about whether he’s physically sound.
The Colts got a good one in Buckner - very productive, hard worker and he never gets hurt. And he’s in the prime of his career.
Brown had a bad combine.
