Blowback actions work fine in .22, .25, .32, 380, and 9mm Mac. It even worked fine in the Astra 600, but 99% of 9mm and up use a locked breech.
The .22 mag is terrible in a short barrel handgun. Huge blast and no more power than a .22LR. I know because a friend and I tested them with his chrono. I guess it is better in a 6 inch barrel.
