Reporters reporting isn’t cause for arrest.

First Amendment rights are not absolute. There are time, place and manner limitations. I don't know what the issue was here. If the reporters were interfering with the cops during their jobs, they could legitimately be arrested.

There was a news lawsuit in Tampa about 30 years ago. A construction worker had been backed over by a cement truck. The cameraman was trying to film the worker’s flattened body and a cop stopped him. As I recall, the cops lost that one.

At that time, I doubt that the network would have aired the footage. Today, probably it would hit Twitter before it even got back to the editor.
