Razor wire is razist!
Now they should add a few Claymores and they will be fine.
Concertina: More than just an accordian.
The article says that razor wire was going at the top of the fencing
Lol, Im shocked that no one was arrested, sued, or at the very least called racist by de Blasio for trying to hurt the protestors as they attempt to vandalize and steal everything out of the store.
The people behind the riots, probably would like to see some rioters encounter the dogs in a Bull Connor type video op.
Is that what happened to fire hoses?
Gracie Mansion has gone untouched. No wonder why.
Foo-gas (fougasse)
So on a related theme... I was wondering what I’d do if I was a property owner with a large store that may or many not have large plate glass windows. I think it goes without saying that store owners are thinking along these lines because they obviously were all incredibly (and dare I say stupidly) vulnerable and I don’t think that any of these folks want to be caught with their pants down next time....
It goes without saying that one would want to be able to implement a perimeter protective system that could be put in place in seconds... but also didn’t make the store look like junk or an armed fortress during normal peaceful shopping days. There are lots of things that could be done... so first and foremost, I’d put in a steel barrier that would hide away in pocket doors that slide in horizontally or lifted vertically. It would have to be designed with no ‘hook points’ where somebody would get a hook on it and tear it off with a vehicle. Regardless, I don’t think the ‘solution’ is just one thing....,
I also like the idea of a motion activated nozzles.... perhaps releasing high pressure steam or how about an easy to clean up misted lubricant of vegetable oil that made everything so slippery it would be impossible to stand on the sidewalk in front of the store let alone get a grip on the barrier. Is there a chemical that would be a better choice... a legal type of bear spray or stink that makes an intruder immediately nauseous? How about a two part entry system with some nice guard dogs so that if they got past the first barrier, they would be met by the welcoming pack of vicious dogs? Perhaps a motion activated 140 dB squeal that would blow their ear drums right out of their head? A trap door that dropped them into an alligator pit? Seriously, it would be good if as part of this effort, something could be taken from the perps beyond pictures that would clearly identify exactly who the thugs are....
Ok... some of these ideas are not completely practical or legal but I’d like to see what other clever Freepers come up with....
There is razor wire coiled on top of the fencing in later pics..
When individuals need to protect themselves and businesses need to hire private security, the government has become worthless.
These anarchists think they want anarchy. If they keep pushing, and if government keeps shirking, they may get to see what it's like when both sides ignore the laws. They won't like it.
The stories of the Hispanic gangs in Chicago stepping up to protect their neighborhoods made me think of the rise of the Freikorps in Germany after WW1. The Communists were running wild in the streets, the remnants of the Imperial army and police weren’t willing or able to stop them, and the actions of the Freikorps ultimately won them a lot of popular support.
Between them, increasingly disgruntled cops, and lots of veterans out there from Afghanistan and Iraq, I wonder....
Anyone who has been in the Army knows the proper term is RAZOR TAPE.
Also, the RAZOR TAPE at the top of the chain link fence is stretched out way to tight. As installed, it is virtually useless. Needs to have at least triple the coverage to be effective.
