On Wednesday evening last the Republicans of Portland, Me., welcomed home their Congressional delegation. Mr. MARK H. DUNNELL spoke on behalf of the citizens of Portland, and Hon. HANNIBAL HAMLIN responded for the delegation. He said: SIR: In behalf of the Maine Delegation you will receive our sincere and grateful acknowledgment for the kind and generous terms in which you have spoken of their official acts. And through you we would also tender to our friends present, who have given to us so cordial a welcome, our heartfelt thanks. It was always pleasant to get away from the cares and toils incidental to Congressional life, and to return to the comforts and enjoyments of home to mingle with the people of the State, and to breath the pure air as it comes invigorating from our mountains and our hills.
