These two disappearance homicides are not unique at Hood, I have been told.

Ft. Hood is huge and IIRC the largest Base in the U.S. The City adjacent is Killeen (AKA The Armpit of Texas) and it's a "not so domesticated area".

I lived in Harker Heights a few miles away. The Water System I worked at had a 1,000,000 Gallon Storage Tank on top of Rattlesnake Mountain that is in one of the Tank Training area. There are Signs Posted on the County Roads that say "Tank Crossing"

And all the crossings are Blind Spot due to Brush, Rocks and Trees. The crossing on the County Road were textured by Tank Treads.

(I'm Petunia and I approved this message.)

It is a big post, about 100,000 Soldiers, civilian employees, contractors, and family members.

So crime is not unexpected, but for two soldiers to disappear and be found dead under suspicious circumstances is very unusual.

Stuff like this enrages me. Soldiering is tough enough without crime and personal bull-—t.

I was on a court martial panel (at Hood) for an Sergeant who sexually assaulted a new Private fresh out of AIT. I wish we could have had him executed, rape and sexual assault are bad, betraying your soldiers is worse. Nothing burns my craw like an NCO (I was one, back before I was commissioned) who sets aside his responsibility to his Soldiers for personal gratification.
