I Joined FR 22 Years Ago (June 28th, 1998)

I cannot believe I missed my own anniversary.

I joined FR 22 years ago, during the height of the Clinton Impeachment. So many great memories. Met Henry Hyde with some local Illinois Freepers, protested Clinton when he was here in Chicago (He turned around and looked at us when I yelled "How's Monica's throat?") and so much more.

Hoping some fellow Class of '98'ers chime in and let me know they're still here.

Congrats, I signed up in June but for some reason lost the account and had to sign up in July. I think I was only 18 back then :)

I am so happy to hear you discovered FR during the Chik-fil-A fiasco in 2012!

My (now ex) wife and I stood in the parking lot of the Chik-fil-A for six hours to buy food to support them. We meet so many like minded people in line that day. Everyone cheerful, upbeat and friendly.

When we finally got inside to place our order, the young girl who took our order smiled as if she'd just started her shift even though she'd been working all day non-stop. What a testimony to Chik-fil-A and their customer centric focus. I still go to that same location whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

Darn it, I missed celebrating my 20th anniversary last month. Well, I just blame the miss on the Kung Flu virus, which causes everything these days. I should have been out toasting Jim Rob for his diligent work to keep FR going all these years. I’m hoping for at least 20 more years. I’ll be toasting with Ensure by then.

I am fairly certain (I’d have to check to make sure), that I, too, joined FR in 1998. I think it was in March, 1998.

I was fairly active on FR back then. These days, mostly just lurk. But, I do lurk a lot. Ha!

Happy FR Anniversary!!

That would be two of us. He and I actually met many years ago and then re-connected here on FR. No recollection how he made the connection between the two of us but he did. Whenever he and I disagreed I still had a metric ton of respect for him and because of that almost always reconsidered my position.

I miss having that kind of connection with someone. Good to see you here today and glad to see you're still with us here on FR.

I remember you and haven't seen your nic on here for years! Glad to see you're still here!

It can be "challenging" on here at times for sure, getting older has given me (hopefully..) enough wisdom to know when and where to "pick my spot" so to speak.
