"I have never had an African American come up to me and have any problem with it whatsoever," said Schneider, 60, who added that "the whole politically correct generation has gotten way out of hand."

Schneider went on to call the series, which was set in fictional Hazzard County, Georgia, "a unifying force."

These people are not upset over a flag, or a monument because of slavery. If they were then they would not vote for the party which did slavery .

“The situation in the country has obviously changed in the last 40 years. I feel fortunate to be living in a time when we can address some of the injustices of the past,” he said. “But the car is innocent.”

Now someone may go up to him to say they have a problem with it to hope it goes viral.

I recall watching an interview with Ben “Cooter” Jones and him saying that he marched with Martin Luther King, Jr.

The name “Democratic Party” was used by democrats from the time they owned slaves, to when Republicans ended slavery in the Civil War, through the democrats’ creation of the KKK as their enforcement branch to prevent freed slaves from voting for Republicans, through the democrats’ imposition of Jim Crow laws and segregation, through their attempts to block Republicans from passing the Civil Rights Act.

The question we should be asking is why are democrats still using the name “Democratic Party” with its long history as a symbol of slavery, racism and oppression of black Americans?

Just because you remove all vestiges of history doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
It just extends your ignorance.

If they were upset by slavery, what are they doing down here in the South? Wouldn’t that trigger them every single moment of every single day? Would their delicate constitutions be able to handle living in the South?

The “rebel” flag was adopted by Southern moonshine runners as a symbol of independence from the federal ‘revenuers who made their traditional home brew illegal unless they could tax it. It was always a symbol of tax rebellion and self reliance and had nothing to do with any slavery. When the runners finally got smart they decided to just race their souped up stock cars on a track and NASCAR was born.

We live near State Rte. 70 in TN, which runs parallel to I-40. Historians say that it was the main route for bootleggers running moonshine between Memphis and Bristol. Not sure if it’s true, but an interesting story.

It’s no surprise that no black person has ever given Schneider any grief about the Dukes of Hazzard and the Confederate Flag.

Black activists are a small minority of black Americans IMO but the lying media makes them seem like every black person in the country.

“The question we should be asking is why are democrats still using the name ‘Democratic Party’ with its long history as a symbol of slavery, racism and oppression of black Americans?”

Because their voters have Stockholm Syndrome. I can see no other reason.

That said, how many of us voted for Dubya, Mittens and McStain? Sad truths we’re all facing these days as President Trump continues to pull back the curtain...
