I had a conversation with my "woke" son the other day. He was born after we "made it" financially and has never known a day when he has not had access to anything that he could ever want. We (his parents) on the other hand came from nothing and worked our way to where we are. I grew up in a very poor area and I do know about police brutality, and had to educate him first hand.
When the president says that more white kids are killed than black by police, the Marxists counter with the false argument that there are more white people than black in the US, therefore percentage wise there are more blacks killed than whites. Lets GET REAL here. The police are not killing rich people. The people who get killed by police are from poor areas. You will not see Will Smith's kids getting roughed up by police no matter how disrespectful they may come across to them. The kids who get roughed up and killed overwhelmingly come from poor families, sadly.
So, if we are speaking about percentages, there are statistically - and by a large margin - more poor black kids than there are poor white ones. So if we are using this argument about percentages, there are considerably more white people killed by police than black ones.

Their hysteria only undermines their credibility. I don’t see how they can expect to be believed.
You probably didn’t want to tell your son that those poor and even middle class black kids are also committing many times more crime than white kids, thus having many more police encounters.
Frankly, this is all insane because in the case of George Floyd, he had committed a crime, was whacked out on drugs, and was assaulting officers. The idea that he was “killed” because he was black is quite a stretch.
Poor or not how about black criminality?
Even though I know this to be true, I wouldn’t bring it up to my son as he would become defensive about it. He went to college and learned that blacks are oppressed in America, and that we are racists for having a difference of opinion about that.
I absolutely agree about George Floyd. People are misled by the media. His death had nothing to do with his race I am sure.

I’m not sure that’s true. While a higher percentage of black children live under poverty guidelines, in terms of raw numbers there are more poor white kids.
There is apparently no reason to claim being a father when you saw it as just a sexual occasion with another b!+(# in your neighborhood. Government takes care of that guy and the girl and her eventual child. With the girl, she feels loved and needed by the baby while the boy feels loved by the street gang.
This continues to spiral out of control with the assistance of a lack of jobs in many areas for blacks. Education is not properly framed as healthy and desires to finish school are not well instilled, in part, due to the apparent lack of hope an education can provide to extricate one from this cycle of despair. After all, people don’t know many who ever escape this cycle and to escape it you have to be around a bunch of other races you’ve been trained to hate because they always have more than you. You know this is true because you see it on television and around the city. All these other people have something you don’t, which means they took it from you or had it given to them from the privileged in the US, because if it was randomly and equally available to all, the same proportion of black neighbors would be just as well off.

If so, he could learn a whole lot if he is turning loose on his own to earn a living...he will find the free and easy life he grew up with has costs...
Yes, he is soon to be 29 years old and has been earning his own money. After college he elected to sign on for two years with Americorp rather than getting a paying job. He lived on very little money and no help from us doing volunteer work. After Americorp he has gotten a job paying less than 50K per year even though he has two degrees. He seems to be content.
This is the great problem of leftist brainwashing. These kids grew up in a society where they saw every day that white racism is not tolerated. But they believe there is an “America” that’s racist. They even believe THEY are racist.
I actually looked up the numbers and found that there were more poor black kids. This was about a month ago so I don’t remember, but I forwarded the stats to my son.

Sounds like that needs to change...turn off the money spigot. Let him make his own way without your support. Tell him you love him, but he has to hit “bottom”, just as any drug addict or alcoholic does, in order to see the light. He may never change...but many addicts don’t either. Correct. Raw numbers indicate that whites outnumber blacks in poverty in the US by 2.3 times. About 22 million whites versus about 9 million blacks.
On a percentage basis about 22% of blacks versus about 9% of whites live in poverty.
