In the same vein, though, I am a high power rifle competitor. About as interesting to watch as paint drying, but exciting when your dropping 75 bthps into the 6 inch X ring at 600 yards, using a look alike M16A4 with irons or a low powered optic.

Only because the cops saw the irony of cops arresting cops,disabled ones at that.....

Lots of people out there with badges and no legal authority - Sheriffs give them to people and retired LEO’s carry a badge. It probably indicates their status, or maybe not but they can’t use it for arrests or charging people. It is honorary.
