With Jordan and now the UAE working with Israel, the mullahs in Iran must be crapping bricks, especially since Oman and Bahrain are leaning towards the same. There are different kinds of debt. The ideal kind pays for itself. You build a factory and its operation pays for itself. Over time the debt is paid off and the factory produces a profit. Then there is public debt to build administrative buildings and things that do not pay for themselves. Once this capital is built, you have to staff it, repair it, maintain it, light it, cool it, etc. This is a bad expenditure.
