I say good for Egypt, mostly because they recognize Israel’s right to exist. With Jordan and now the UAE working with Israel, the mullahs in Iran must be crapping bricks, especially since Oman and Bahrain are leaning towards the same. The mullahs power in Iran is heading towards the end. Just hope they don’t start a shooting war to keep control.
There are different kinds of debt. The ideal kind pays for itself. You build a factory and its operation pays for itself. Over time the debt is paid off and the factory produces a profit. Then there is public debt to build administrative buildings and things that do not pay for themselves. Once this capital is built, you have to staff it, repair it, maintain it, light it, cool it, etc. This is a bad expenditure.
The question about how rational this is - whether it makes sense economically, whether it is doable, whether its the best course of action - this question is not even asked, Ezzedine Fishere, an Egyptian writer and senior lecturer at Dartmouth College in the United States, said by phone.
Thats called SOCIALISM
But maybe Covids not the reason to cancel - Egypts deaths/million is ~50, which is near Wyoming or Alaska-like numbers.
Just doesn't have the same historical ring as Cairo, Alexandria or Luxor.
"Caesar and Cleopatra stroll the streets of Alexandria the New Administrative Capital".

Woke rules would require there be:
Are they planing to call it New Amarna?
If I expected Cairo to be nuked to radioactive slag in the coming war, I’d want to build a new capitol out in the desert, too. Just sayin’.
