Nobody dies from the flu either. So-you can stop saying “80k people a year die from the flu”- because that’s just not true. People die from the complications. Pretty sad that you don’t understand this.

Be careful of apple and oranges comparisons. If you use the "excess death" number for COVID-19 you have to use it for the flu - and many flu deaths are of those with preexisting conditions too.
Diabetes, heart condition, and obesity are not just fine. They are time bombs that compromise one's ability to withstand illness.
What COVID has really demonstrated in technicolor is that America has a very large unhealthy population. We are fat and sedentary, and are reaping the benefits from the diseases that come from those two things.

Maybe we will know the true story someday, but this is very curious. My own county in Texas just reduced its tally of current active COVID cases from > 4600 to 81.
When pressed, the Texas Dept of Health admitted that the bigger number was because they were counting cumulative cases. Somebody had apparently thought to ask the hospitals how many COVID cases they were now seeing. Answer was very few.
Except officially, the death certificate would not identify flu as the cause of death, but the most prevalent co-morbidity.

My neighbors have been doing just fine for years - one with diabetes and one with a heart condition and overweight. But if they got Covid and died, don’t tell me that it was their diabetes that killed them.
I’m sorry but you have it totally backwards. Without the co-morbidities, persons infected with influenza, measles, Covid etc would recover from these diseases without issue. It is because of the co-morbidities that they do not survive.
Very true. What COVID has also demonstrated is that many believe that we should shut down our businesses and lives to try to protect the fat and sedentary at the expense of everyone else.

We don’t say they die of the flu unless they wound up tested for it, despite comorbidities.
For instance, about 245,000 actually got tested for the flu during the 2019-2020 flu season, as of mid April. About 24,500 of people tested for the flu died. That is a 10% death rate.
Except, it’s not. It’s an assumed 0.1% death rate. This is due to the estimated number of people not ever tested but believed to not have possibly died from it, so they all “survived.”
Well I guess those of us who screamed that the numbers were bogus are finally being vindicated.
