Local accounts in Rocklznd Cty, NY of the impact from the Spanish Flu from 1918, compared to the current Szechuan Sniffles. At the time there was an Army base just across the state line in Dumont, NJ, then as now speculation was some of the troops may have carried the virus from Europe at the end of WW1.

It pays to have a pandemic from the past to help scare our people of the present. I mean, why should people 100 years ago have a deadly pandemic and we can’t? We deserve our own 21st century pandemic. We have been watching zombie movies and tv shows, and we are ready for a pandemic. Bill Gates and Antonio Faucio said we were going to have one. Don’t take our pandemic away!
