I was just about to post your comment about not being able to read reading original documents. Besides cursive enhances the brain. https://naturalsociety.com/how-cursive-writing-affects-brain-development/Also, they are not teaching students correct printing skills so therefore THEY CANNOT EVEN BEGIN to write in cursive. I’ve witnessed it firsthand in various classrooms.

To me, cursive is kinda like learning an “art”....

They don’t teach kids how to hold pens properly anymore! I tutored a while in an inner city school and was appalled at how third graders held pens and pencils like a bird with a twig in its claw. They would never be able to write easily and legibly. It made me sad. I was there to teach reading but still attempted to show them, but would always come back the next week and see them holding their pens incorrectly. When I was in kindergarten that was one of the very first lessons and they were very strict about it. Back in the dark ages....😢
