New York's Times Square will bid farewell to 2020 without the usual huddled masses jamming the streets on New Year's Eve officials have announced, amid fears that crowds could spread coronavirus.
The New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square is among the biggest in the world, typically drawing about a million people to the streets of midtown Manhattan, with more than a billion more tuning in on television.

I remember growing up in the NYC metro area in the 70s you risked life and limb if you went to see the Times Square Ball drop. I cannot imagine standing out there for 12+ house for a stupid ball drop. You have to wear a diaper.

I went to NYC one New Year’s Eve. It was actually a lot of fun. One could buy a pass to events all over Manhattan. One was a full orchestra playing waltzes and other ballroom dancing music.

I used to work there. I enjoyed it a lot. I felt safe. It was low crime at the time and midtown was cleaned up. Now the Marxists control things. I have no desire to spend my money there.
