They started with Easter, then Memorial Day. They tried to scrap Fourth of July but we outdid anything that would nhave normally gone on.

they are trying to cancel voting in person. I’m sure Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the docket as well although I don’t recall hearing anything about them.

The “tribute in lights” was done this year - but I believe a group stepped in to fund it. This is about a bankrupt city, not public health. It is hard to conceive just how badly this whole thing has damaged the finances of NYC, and the work-arounds by employers have exacerbated it - businesses are doomed, and the city and state are losing a ton of revenues.
More and more places are returning to some semblance of normal; it just isn’t happening in cities where 1) they can’t pay the police overtime to provide for public safety, and 2) they can’t keep people safe anyway.
Ridership is down on the NYC subway but crime is up; think about that.
