45 yrs this Sunday......one adult dtr very gracious towards us, one adult son kind of a cluttered life and he rarely thinks of cards or calls....one dtr at home with aspergers will sometimes make her own card for us but she also will buy me a starbuck tea once in a while, or a book from the store...

So sorry to hear that. That can be hurtful. We have both sides of the spectrum going with offspring. It is so hard to understand the lack of gratitude and attention from the “bad” ones.

Heck,

One of my adult kids texted the other day when he realized he forgot to call his grandma on her birthday.

Sixty years for us next May. Son No. One calls every Sunday, and sends birthday/Mothers-Fathers Day cards - the other, a once a year call if we're lucky and always an excuse why no cards. We don't expect them but they are a nice gesture.

Wifey wants to split the inheritance 50-50. Don't think so.

I don't understand grown children today except the miles away and the work pace they keep seems to set their priorities differently than the generations past.

I have sons 45 minutes away and even that requires drive time up and back plus time here so it's not done very often. I also think it's different when you have daughters. They appear to get home and remember occasions from what I understand. It's been three years now since I've had a birthday or mothers day with any of my children. So you're not alone.
